Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 1

CADES LIFE:

I grew up in a small town plagued by poverty. I only wanted to help them for as long as I could remember, however all they seemed to do was envy me. "You sure as hell look like a nobile, "I bet your parents just threw you away", "all you are is a pretty face".

While yes they are just arbitrary insults, they still hurt nonetheless. As I grew up here, all I wanted to do was leave. However, even that seemed to be shattered. I had saved up a year's worth of income just to take a trip to a neighboring city with far more capabilities than my own.

I had only wanted to achieve at least 1 element so that I can become an adventurer...but as I put my hand on the ice cold ball, nothing had shown. I was nothing more than normal.

I remember walking out in sheer hatred, and that's when I decided to properly end my misery.

PRESENT DAY:

All I seem to know is that at one point I went by the name "Kitsuya" however I'm no longer that same individual anymore. I mean how could I be? I had experienced an entire 17 years of someone else's memories….no maybe just maybe, our consciousness has fused.

It would make the most plausible sense, as I never used to hold any interest in the aspect of magic or adventure, but now it all I can seem to focus on.

Well I mean in Manga people usually get power in this scenario...so I guess it wouldn't hurt to go back and try testing my elements again. Granted I doubt that I'd be so lucky.

I left the small Inn room and walked down the drafty hallways. I only stopped to see my reflection for myself, holy fuck...why am I so handsome? I could feel the gazes of people marveling over my facial features, and quickly pulled up my hood to not feel as if I was being fondled.

I walked around for about an hour attempting to find another shop that could gauge my magic power, mostly due to the fact of me not wanting to have to be embarrassed in front of the same shop twice.

I was lucky enough that they even gave me a refund out of pity...well that and the fact that the female was clearly entranced by my appearance.

As I stepped forward, my thoughts came to a sudden halt. I saw a sign that read "Briefs Magi".

I sighed in relief "found one", as I entered the store I could feel a wave of anxiety enter by being.

An oldman at the counter greeted me and ushered me forward, but it felt as if my body had been slowed by 50%. As I got to the counter and gave the money bag to the old man, I could hear him give a chuckle.

"Don't you worry so much, the very worst that could happen is that your average."

I snapped out of my anxious demeanor and stared at him "that's exactly the issue, I don't want to be normal".

The old man simply smirked "Don't we all".

He disappeared into the back room for a second that reappeared with a ball just like the one I had previously used. He set it down and tracked his neck, "well kid, give it a go."

My heart felt as if it were about to burst from my chest, my hand inched closer and closer, until finally...it touched. At first there was nothing, and I grew rather disappointed, but soon a light began to emulate through the orb. The light was pure and white, but it was not alone.

It seemed a black mist was swirling around it, as if they were eternal enemies that just couldn't seem to best the other.

I looked up at the old man with a smile breaching my usually stoich face, however I was rather taken back by his look of shock.

"What's wrong?"

The old man's eyes darted to me and back down to the ball a multitude of times. "Kid...I think you just discovered 2 new elements. "
