Hiro had Imina and Roberdyck explain to him what happened during this last month. A tragic event in which they had lost a friend. The vampire who kidnapped Arche was reputed to be ruthless and brutal, so the chances of Arche being dead by now were worryingly high. But there's still a small fraction of hope telling them that she was still alive. Somewhere.
"I can't believe Arche was abducted by that... vampire." Hiro said, in disbelief.
Roberdyck frowns. "It's a tragedy for sure. Our beloved friend now a toy for a monster to do whatever it wants with her." He said.
Termite was sleeping on the counter. Imina was lost in her thoughts.
"But why did you chose this mission for those ruines? Exploring the unknown always comes with its fair share of surprises." Hiro remarked.
Roberdyck let's out a small cough as he explains, "You see, brother... Arche has two younger sisters, herobjective all along was to flee with her sisters to escape their parents' tyranny." He says.
Imina continues, "Those noble bastards are bankrupt and yet they don't seem to care about their children more than getting their money back." She says.
Roberdyck nods. "It's our duty as her friend to continue what she had already started. We're getting her sisters out of their guard, but for that, we'll need money. A lot." He says.
"That contract was generous. It gave two hundred gold coins in advance. In other words, we trust the contractor." Imina added.
"Any information about the contractor?" Hiro asked.
"A rich nobleman who's interested in ancient findings. That's all we know, it was thanks to this drunkhead right here." She says, while pushing Termite with her hand.
'Hm. So the contractor was indeed the head of the nobles from earlier with Jircniv... He didn't even try to cover up using an intermediary... He's so certain of himself but doesn't know everyone's gonna die the moment they step inside those ruines.' Hiro thinks.
"Well figure out that I had a special audience with him earlier." He announced.
The two were flabbergasted by this announcement. "You personally met the contractor?" Roberdyck asked, surprised.
"Yes. In fact, he even invited me to join the mission as backup." Hiro replied.
"And what did you say?!" Imina shouts, eager to know his decision.
"..." Hiro looks at Roberdyck's and Imina's desperate expressions. The poor lost a friend and were trying to carry on her legacy. With some luck, he was bound to find Arche, probably in Nazzarick. Still alive? He doubts, but it's worth a shot.
"...I accepted." He said.
The two workers were overjoyed to hear that. An adamantite rank adventurer added to the list of backup was always a pleasure to have.
"Hm. Then it seems like We're in perfect safety." Roberdyck says.
"It's true that you rose to Adamantite faster than anyone in the world. Makes me remember the first tike we met." Imina says, smiling.
Hiro smiles too. It was always a pleasure to have a little chat with old friends. Especially if these ones are trying ti get over a hard time.
Termite suddenly started waking up, his hand on his head as he tried to cool down the headache, "Ughh... Wh—*gulp*... Where am I...?" He asks.
"Just in time for the good news!" Roberdyck says, smiling.
"...Arch—*gulp* Arche's back...?" He says, ignorant.
"We'll find her much easier now that Hiro's joining the team." Imina says, friendly putting her arm around Hiro's back. Roberdyck does the same. It's a kind and friendly manner to welcome someone to a team. Even Termite smiles while still in alcohol effect.
X―x―X—The Next Day...—X―x―X
All workers were united at the start point of the mission. It was 7PM and preparation were already complete. This forst departure was going to include four main worker parties, and two Adamantite adventurers.
The interactions were just the same as in the anime. And when time ran closer, an emissary arrived to welcome everyone and explain the plan.
"Greetings everyone. I'm a secretary of the nobleman who contracted all of you. The first wave consists of four worker groups and a single adamantite adventurer. The second wave will depart tomorrow at the same time with Momon of Darkness and Nabe as support. But for today, you'll have the backup of Sir Hiro!" The young secretary boy announced, as Hiro arrived in his dark amror and greeted everyone with a wave of his hands.
The members of Foresight were happy to see him, meanwhile most of the others showed obvious envy and malice. 'Y'all deserve what's gonna hit you...' Hiro says in annoyance in his mind.
In the next moment, another adventurer joined the scene. It was none other than Momon himself. His outstanding weight pressing against his armor that emitted an intimidating sound, like that of a war machine that suddenly gained the ability to walk. A terrifying advance in the world of technology.
"Everyone. I was first assigned to the first wave, but when I knew that my friend Hiro was also taking part in this adventure, I knew that I wouldn't have to worry about your safety, and that you're all in good hands." Momon says looking at Hiro even though with the armor on you couldn't see that clearly.
"It's a pleasure to meet you again, Momon." Hiro says.
"Umu. The same could be said about me." Momon says, nodding.
Hiro tilts his head to the side, "You too, Lady Nabe. I look forward to working with you." Hiro says, kindly.
Nabe, startled, and still remembering last time, dared not to make eye contact and simply brushed off those words with a simple reply and a failed attempt at hiding her emotions, "...Me too..."
"Good. Now, Let's commence the trip. It's going to take two hours to get there so if anyone has anything to do then now or never." The secretary announced.
"Before you go, I have a question for you all." Momon announces to the public.
"What are your motivations for this mission." He asks.
This fatal question was answered by the same manner as In the anime.
"Money." Was the general response.
Disappointed by their greed, Momon gave a hostile stare, who no one's saw... Except for Hiro.
"I see. I shouldn't have asked that question... In fact, it was a stupid question to begin with..." He says. Everyone was dumbfounded by that reaction.
"Let us commence." Momon says, seriously.
Hiro have him the stare. It was one versus an entire Tomb now.
