Chapter 169 - CH. 163: Foreshadow

Stitches appeared around Hiro's body, it represented, undoubtedly, the fact that he was nothing but a puppet to the ultimate puppeteer he also calls Master.

"Hahaha! This is our first contact ever since your travel Hiro, and here you are interacting with some of my favorite characters in the series!" This voice resonated.

It was no one else other than Akira.

Hiro tried moving but his body was paralyzed by the stitches, around his arms, legs, mouth and even face.

"I hold these workers very dear to me, their end was a real tragedy and I find it unfair. That's why I'm permitting you in using a fraction of my powers to protect them. Also, keep in mind that an Outer God's simple spell can destroy realities so please use it with parcimony." Akira said, his voice echoing throught the frozen monochrome world.

"I'd like to see the world just like it is so don't destroy it because I have no interest in the rebuilt version. Your sole purpose for existence is entertaining me so don't disappoint me...

"...Or else I'll have to intervene myself. And trust me, the second you make me leave my world, I won't show any mercy." Akira said, his voice getting deeper and more frightening with the final words.

Suddenly, the stitches disappeared from Hiro's body and the frozen world regained its normal allure with time passing just like how it used.

"It's over for you... Hehehe..." The chief mercenary exclaimed.

"GRA—"

"HEH?!" The latter shifted his gaze to where this cry of agony came from. To his surprise, one of his men had been impaled alive with a sharp stone stalactite that ascended from the ground, entering his body through his anus and exiting through his head. His corpse was left hanging cruelly on the stalactite with blood dripping down like a waterfall.

"Wh—What... Happened?" Termite asked, confused.

His confusion only grew larger as everyone felt a sudden earthquake beneath their feet. From the ground surged multiple stalactites that killed all the mercenaries in the most brutal ways, piercing through their flesh, muscles, organs, and bones like the well-known spring lock failure.

"H...H—Hel...p.....m—m...e..." These were the final words of the strong-enough mercenaries who didn't die instantly upon impact.

The chief was ultimately frightened by this sight, seeing his laborious men die at the hands of merciless workers, just foreshadowed his impending death.

He fell to the ground, panicking and attempting to talk his way out of the situation, "N—No... Pl—Please... S–Spare my life...! I'll—...I'll give you as much g–g–g–gold as you want...!!" he mumbled, desperately trying to save his life.

"D–Die!!" Hiro shouted, pointing his hands towards the last remaining.

What came out of his arms was a potent fireball spell, a dark fire that resembled none other in this world; it came straight from hell

"Wh—What kind of spell is that?!" Imina asked, surprised.

The terrain around this hellish flame began to melt, as nothing in this world was strong enough to withstand a force so powerful that it had been banished to purgatory. Even the mercenary's skin began to melt from the heat before he was even attacked. The workers, however, were immune.

"I—I never saw this kind of flame before... It's so bright..." Arche replied, covering her eyes with her forearm from the intense luminosity of the hell flame.

"Remember, an Outer God's power can destroy realities so please proceed with parcimony."

Hiro remember what his master told him. It'd be a very troublesome scenario if the flame were to consume the entire world and turn it to hell, "I–I order the flame to limit itself to simply killing my adversary! Now please eliminate this pathetic human!" Hiro pronounced.

Then, the flame flew towards the chief, disintegrating everything on its path till it reached the already turned-skeleton mercenary.

What followed next was an incredible explosion, followed by a raging hurricane of flames that ascended so high into the sky that the flash could be seen from hundreds of kilometers away.

Of course, the ground on which the workers and Hiro were standing was left unfazed due to his protection. And boy the humans were flabbergasted by this incredible show of power.

"...I have never seen power so incredible before..." Termite mumbled unconsciously, looking at the huge crater created by Hiro's powerful attack.

"It's clear now... We are seriously facing a prophet..." Roberdyck added.

The explosion created attention throughout the entire world. And some people were already theorizing on what it could be, some were already taking action, but some already had a clear idea on what was happening.

Now, moving on the quintessential part of the Overlord novel, The Great Tomb of Nazzarick, the underground headquarters, dungeon, and domain of the world's most powerful and important figure of the story, the main character himself, Ainz Ooal Gown.

The uncontested and legitimate sovereign of Nazzarick as well as the last remaining of the 41 Supreme Beings who founded and once ruled over this Tomb. Ainz Ooal Gown has the appearance of an Overlord, an undead skeleton creature who is devoid of skin and flesh. He tends to mainly wear an elaborate, jet-black academic gown adorned with golden and violet edges. When he has no clothes on, his whole body alone is purely made up of just his bones. He also has a dark red orb floating under his ribs that emanates a feeling of dread.

Currently, he was in his office treating the reports, personally given to him by his secretary, who's also the Overseer of Nazzarick's floor guardians, Albedo. Albedo is a tall succubus with lustrous jet-black hair and the face of a goddess. She has golden irises and vertically split pupils; on her left and right temples are two thick horns protruding crookedly, and on her waist are a pair of black angel wings.

"Hm~. It seems like that particular report has caught your eye my Lord~." Albedo said, while smiling and speaking in a tease and seductive voice.

"Hm?... Ar–I...Um... *Ahem... Indeed, Albedo. Thanks to the patrolling of the shadow monsters, we were able to identify the spell used that caused all that destruction. And this report here from Aura, further enforces my theory...

...It says that the spell used in question was an extremely potent form of fire. And to my knowledge, there's only two possible ways to re-create the same scenario...

...First, the Super-Tier Spell [Berserk Elementals]. It's an extremely destructive form of magic that's superior to Tier 10. This spell, allows the user to create forms of the 4 primordial elementals, that are normally unaccessible and forbidden of use." Aiz said.

"Hm. So what you're suggesting, my Lord, is that this person used the Super-Tier Spell [Berserk Elementals] and more precisely the flame-variation to cause this?" Albedo asked.

"Exactly, Albedo. This person could have been facing a dangerous opponent and decided to use this spell as a trump card, to erase the traces of the corpse by the same occasion." Ainz said.

"However, I doubt this scenario was the reality, for three main reasons. First, It takes some serious skills to obtain [Berserk Elementals]. Even I had to struggle for a while before getting a chance to acquire that power...

...Second, it's a Super-Tier Spell, that sort of power does not exist within the mortal realm and is impossible to reacg. The report suggested that the caster had a human like appearance, but we can't trust everything we see...

...Thirdly, Super-Tier Spells are a long-time casting magic, meaning it's not effective in a critical situation. It signifies that the caster is not safe from a fatal attack while he's preparing the attack..." Ainz said.

"Wh–What an outstanding hypothesis elaborated by you my Lord. Your intellect will never seize to amaze me." Albedo expressed in respect.

"Hm. That leaves us with the second option. I'm highly confident that this one is the real scenario which occured. But if it is, then my worries are real and we'll need to prepare for the worse..."

"...It was a World-Class Item..."
