Steim caught his daughter's arm then said, "I am not letting you leave this mansion."
"Let go of me father— can't you see there's no way— no way we're winning this if we don't talk it out??" Irene says as she struggles to free herself from her Father's strong grip.
Steim doesn't let go and sighs at his daughter's ignorance. "Listen, Irene... Sigh... You've been, a good girl ever since your mother gave birth to you.
That's a quality we don't find in a lot of women these days, but it also costs you a lot. Your abduction happened because you didn't report the bodyguards and security slacking off and fooling around because you didn't want them to lose their work.
I understand you feel like you need to repay that guy from saving you from probably death and I, as your father, feel the same thing, needing to compensate one who brought you back to me safe and sound.
But that guy right there *points at Akira from the window, is up to no good. This could have been all part of his scheme to take you away from me... And I'm starting to think that it's working.
Not only that, but that one standing beside him is the legendary god of destruction, Yatan. A wicked being filled with malice who was sealed by the goddess Rebecca because he was too dangerous.
My point is, not everyone deserves a second chance my love. There's some people who'll struck you at first as the poor and desperate type only to deceive you and abduct you from all the things you love. That's what happened to your mom, and I can't let anyone else in my family get lost." Steim concluded, trying to convince his daughter that what she was gonna do was really not worth the risk.
However, Irene did not listen to a single word he was saying. It's not like she could change her personality at once, as he said, she reminded her dad of his wife. Indeed, Irene considered her personality to be a legacy to her late mother, a saint who always found the solution to critical problems such as this one.
Faced with the god of destruction and king of dragons, there was nothing else they could do apart from awaiting their judgement. And Irene felt like if she got involved with Nox she could possibly change his perspective about this world and show him that it's not as bad as he may perceive it.
Steim's talk was all just bullshit, completely selfish words trying to manipulate Irene's mind into staying all day long in the house to avoid another loss. The demise of her mother was no one's fault and it didn't justify the father's actions into taking his daughter's life into his own hands !
Irene forcefully pulled her arm from Steim's grip. "I—Irene! Get back here you disobedient brat!!" He shouted, angrily.
In that moment of freedom, she taught about a way to leave the chamber. The guards at every entrance weren't helping, so she quickly ran towards the giant glass window at the periphery of the room and faithfully jumped out of the mansion.
Seeing this atrocious scene, Steim screamed Irene's name so loudly it could be heard from outside the mansion. All eyes fell upon the figure that was falling from the Earl's mansion.
Akira who saw the white haired girl from before falling to her demise, simply snapped his fingers causing her to teleport right beside him, safe and sound.
Irene got confused for a second, she didn't feel herself teleporting but she was glad her improvised plan worked.
"Who the hell are you?" Akira asked.
"Um... My Liege, that's the woman you saved from my incompetent servants..." Yatan replied.
Irene's face turned blue when she felt so close to Yatan. She felt her courage and bravoure fade away instantly when realizing that the spot she was standing on right now was the world's most dangerous and risky area in the entire universe.
"KYAAAAAH!!" She shouted in fear, almost bursting to tears.
'Jeez so loud...' Akira turned to see Yatan, "I think she's scared of you mister god of destruction." He said, sarcastically.
Yatan got flabbergasted by what his master said. He took a few steps back to get Irene in a more comfortable atmosphere.
"Everyone! The wicked Nox took Lady Irene as hostage!" A random woman shouted.
'No shit.' Akira said, innerly.
The guards were tensing up and ready to strike down the two gods even if it meant losing their lifes in the process. Some adventurers even received some (SSS) Quests telling them to stop Nox, Yatan and now Ultima from doing any harm to the Earl Steim's daughter. These were impossible quests obviously but they were absolute and obligatory to the ones receiving it, no matter the difficulty, as long as they're close to imminent danger.
"IRENE I TOLD YOU NOT TO MAKE ANY RASH DECISION!!" Steim came running with many guards following him, including Doran who was right beside him.
Doran immediately recognized Akira, or rather Nox, and now he started making the connections. That guy beside him was Yatan, Doran felt betrayed, because in his mind, he thought Nox was fighting for a good cause, meanwhile his objective was simply to revive Yatan and start another biblical war.
However, Doran knew exactly the extent of Nox's power, and he knew that a single wrong move and it meant anarchy unfolding at Winston. He didn't care about his own death but he didn't want to involve innocent people in this madness. If he could offer his head as sacrifice for the survival of the world then he would do it, but alas, the head of a mere guard is meaningless.
"Haha. Tell me, Lord Nox. You've really changed since our last encounter. Were you always this focused on ruining our lives? Or did someone *looks at Yatan, strike you with a once in a lifetime deal?" Doran asked, with a smile on his face.
