(A/N: Daaamn this is gonna be sick!)
Akira appeared in the village of Winston which was the first ever starting point of all new players as well as the default checkpoint for players who died during adventures and forgot to set a spawning point.
Being a newbie to the game, Akira's avatar was completely naked apart from a few underwear and a old used cloak enveloping his body.
Unbothered, Akira walked around the heart of Winston as he explored this sort of pre-game lobby. This was the center of the city as well as a starting point so normally it's heavily crowded with NPC merchants promoting their products as well as adventurers looking for temporary party members and even guilds searching for members to join its ranks.
"This Virtual World has nothing virtual in it. This feels just too real to be considered a game!" Akira was fascinated by the immersive vibes the game was giving him, heck a compliment from an Outer God really showed how the game developers killed it.
Looking down, Akira was embarrassed by what he was wearing, "Some more civilized clothes wouldn't hurt." He said. A simple swing of hand changed his barbaric looking cloak to a more distinguishable and acceptable attire.
"Hey you!" Akira heard a certain unfamiliar voie calling at him. How did he know? Well he was in a game but his unlimited senses were still as omnipresent as ever. Akira turned around and looked at this figure calling at him, it was a random adventurer with metal armor.
"Do we know each other?" Akira asked, confused on what this guy wanted from him.
"You're a new player right? *pant pant, I forget it, I need someone to accompany me on a mission of the outmost importance...*pant, pant."
"Why me?" He asked.
The adventurer, seeing Akira tense up, takes a step back, sweat covering his face, "You— You look strong, you must have a high level. It's a—a recue mission! I promise you will be rewarded accordingly for your bravoure." The knight says.
Akira looks at his attire and realizes this guy probably thinks he's a veteran considering his clothes. But it was fine to go with it.
This suggestion wasn't half bad and Akira was interested in seeing how other people, most notably humans, saw this game in a more casual point of view. He surely didn't need help to understand the functioning of this game but why not? For the time being he could stick with someone, a witness to his infinite prouesses to come.
"That works. We'll form a team for the time being. What's your name?" Akira asked.
"My name is Doran. I am the Earl Esteem's sacred guard and my mission is to rescue his daughter, Irene from the Servants of Yatan." Doran presented himself accordingly.
"You can call me Nox." Akira said.
[[ (S) Quest Accepted! Rescue the Earl Esteem's Daughter from the Servants of Yatan.
>> Reward: Escaping Level 0 directly onto 10.
>> Failure: none. ]]
Akira made a head tilt as he remembered the previous days, "This is literally Danmachi repeating itself... The same thing happened when I created and was granted the Falna for my Familia..." Akira mumbled slowly, it is normal for the game to show he's Level 0 because he's a glitch. Akira was more of a glitch than a player, with his unknown class and his absurd power the game just didn't know what to classify him as nor how to calculate his starting level.
His goals were clear ever since he stepped into this Virtual World.
First, he wanted to destroy Grid, the main character as well as all rankers, however crushing Grid was a top priority.
Then, he wanted to create powerful subordinates to rule the world while he was away, merciless being who aren't afraid of killing or being killed.
Most importantly, he wanted to make his name be known amongst all players of the game, he wanted everyone from all ages to know of the names Nox and Akira.
Lastly, his ambitious project, was to the destroy the game, or at least take it down a few days. He could easily do so by launching a global event of destruction but he preferred a more grandiose way to set off the bomb.
Either way, these are Akira's objectives for now. The third one (making himself known) seemed to be the most probable one to happen currently, and what better way to gain fame than completing an S-ranked dungeon on your own, he only needed to clear one and Akira wasn't planing on wasting too much time in dungeon dive, those days were finished in the Danmachi era, he only needed to clear one to spread the news, then, he could make his moves.
'I see, so Level 0 is not a normal start up. Very intriguing...' He mumbled.
"I'll be following your lead, Doran. Show the way and I'll promise you those servants of Yatan won't have any other god to worship tonight." Akira said with confidence. His demeanor was remarkable, even by Doran himself.
'I may have encountered the best player for the mission right here... Or he's just full of dogshit.' Doran said innerly.
"Right, we'll go by horse. It'll take a single hour so let's get going right now, Nox—" He said but interrupted in the end, saying his name so casually made his mouth and tongue distort as it wasn't a name to take so casually when you're a mortal of a modest rank.
But anyways, the journey started for the first quest in this new world.
