We, Outer Gods, are the ultimate deities of our own place. By this point, you mus know that there's an infinite amount of 'planes' existing beyond the restraints put on our reality before exterior imagination.
Our 'plane' is referred to as 'Athena'. It has nothing to do with the Greek Goddess of Knowledge. In fact, it's the goddess that usurped this name to prove her absolute knowledge.
And, for some odd reason, 'Athena' stands just beside another 'plane' called 'Nexus'. The Nexus plane is the set of realities which connect every single place to each other. A spider string which connects every single place with every single Ultimate Deity.
Athena and Nexus were prophesized to collide with each other, in a Ultimate War that'll be critical to determining which sets of Realities will rule over.
It's either the good side, which is the Nexus plane with each Catulhic Deities that represent the Outer Gods of their world, the strongest gods told to protect their plane from wandering threats. And also, very good gods who love mortals and make the life of every single one a dream until the string of fate corrodes after long age.
Or either, it'll be the demonic side, which is Athena. The domain, sandbox, and Hell of the Outer Gods. Insane, mindless, twisted beings corrupted to their core. Selfish creatures with no purpose in existence except antagonizing innocents and enjoying the sadistic pleasure of erasing everything and anything for absolutely no reason.
"Look here. The Nexus plane has three main gods all being part of a group of Catulhic Deities. Their progenitor, her name is Nihila. She's a jackass. But the two other gods are much smarter, enough to make up for her."
"You can access the Nexus whenever you want. But it wouldn't be a good idea if you ask me. If one of the Catulhic Deities spot you, you will be erased. Not only that but only your spiritual form is present, you cannot directly interact with any world whatsoever nor can you possess a lifeform."
"I've tried it once, accidentally, and one of the Catulhic Deities just happened to want to erase me... I gave him a mark, but I will come back. And this time, I won't miss my shot." He said.

This 'Crossing-Over' scenario has brought up so many possibilities like encounters with creatures on par with Outer Gods and the exploration of new worlds foreign to those in this plane. Beyond infinite possibilities and experiences to have in the heart of all planes, The Nexus.
Conquering the Nexus is a free ticket to all planes out there. Instead of taking them one by one, the Outer Gods would be free to roam any plane from any imaginary distance.
But crossing over also means defying the ancient laws present before anything. This meant ascension to power capable of manipulating planes, creating and even erasing them.
But enough of that for the moment, Akira and Alice were still together in the
"Since you brought this up, the Outer Gods will be much more active during this period." Alice said.
"I know, many will perish, a lot will suffer, wars of information will emerge through many realities." He replied.
"It's the path I chose to lead when I wanted to be with you, my Darling~" She said, then she lifts her hand and shows him the alliance, which she refers to as the Unbreakable Bond.
"I know Alice. I'm grateful for that, it's why I chose you first" Akira said with a smile, as he leaned his forehead on Alice's with their faces being so close to each other. They smiled and stayed like that for quite sometime until Alice brought something up.
"Say, are you planning on going back to the Danmachi world soon?" She asked.
Akira rose a brow in surprise, "Why the sudden question?" He asked.
"Oh? Haven't you seen? A great commotion is about to happen there!... The Higher Gods who are supposed to oversee that world were enslaved, not only that but all dungeon level except one were discovered, which leads to ask on what's residing in the last floor." Alice said.
"The gods of heaven, they descended to earth for something... To end the threat of the dungeon" Akira spoke.
"Not the dungeon, but the thing residing in the deepest part of the dungeon. A creature responsible for the entirety of Danmachi's plot or problematic." She added.
Akira stopped for a second. Now that he remembers, those useless deities spoke about being eight originally, seven after the banishment of a goddess who didn't share the same ideologies, one that was too corrupt to be part of the holy divine realm.
"My
But that didn't mean he couldn't use omnipotence as he wants, it just meant he'll have to back off a little and let some other 'twisted' beings take care of the problems while he just sit back and watched the scenes unfolding in front of him. A peaceful spectating which can prove to be more entertaining than just ending anything instantly.
"Yeah, and I know just exactly whom I should bring with me..." He said.
And there really was someone. Whom else was better calling than one who had certain experience with those gods that dared banishing her. If he succeeds, then the next world might be in threat of getting ravaged.
[[ Sometime Later ]]
In another world, always in the Athena plane, there existed an alternate universe of Earth, which served as intermediary for the infamous world of Highschool DxD.
There was a certain mature woman sitting in the outside of a café. She took a sip on warm cup of coffee while just thinking about exterior affairs.
She wore tight jean pants, a white shirt with a black vest on top. Her black hair was along and reached the bottom part of her back and her eyes glowed in a deep crimson color. Her ears are naturally pointy but that's a trait she prefers hiding publicly.
But one thing she cannot hide is her divine aura, even if she tries her best, qualified beings could always sense her presence. Which led to Akira finding her quite easily without serious effort since it hasn't being a lot of time since he came to Highschool DxD.
"Hello Nyx, my cute Deity of Night and all dark related matters." This voice startled Nyx for a second, she didn't expect someone to recognize her but this someone wasn't your average person.
"O-Oh! Akira! What are you doing here?" She asked, her mood lightened a bit with this encounter but she's still surprised to see him so soon.
Akira sat in front of her, then ordered juice just to get the attention away, because what he was about to bring up was certainly going to trigger a reaction in Nyx.
"How's your life in this world?" He asked.
"It was okay I guess, until you erased my pantheon of slaves." She replied, indifferently.
"Haha, that couldn't be helped trust me. But I'm sure you'd like to return to a certain lifestyle... One that existed before the Higher Gods were concerned?" Akira spoke, changing his tone to slower voice at the end.
Nyx flinched after hearing the last part, if Akira didn't calm her down she would have probably gone on a rampage after gruesomely murdering everyone.
"Hehe~ You still hold a grudge against them? Well guess what, I got them all. Aaaall of them at my mercy." He added.
