Chapter 168 - CH. 162: Foresight

(A/N: When I was writing this chapter, I forgot that Foresight members are workers and not adventurers, basically independent adventurers, I corrected it at the end but please ignore the little inconsistencies.)

Also, I started using (after this chapter) AI to correct the mistakes so typos will decrease by 90%. Yes, my signature is gone.

"Wh—Where am I... Where am I...?" Hiro said, waking up from his deep slumber as he rubbed his eyes. His blurred vision didn't help; it took him quite a while for his sight to accommodate to the terrain. When it finally did, Hiro realized that he was not alone in this place.

"Ga—ha!" Hiro groaned, flinching when he saw that he was surrounded by four adventurers camping in the wild.

"Hm. You finally woke up." Spoke the first adventurer. Hiro turned around and faced her, A young woman in her adolescence with a petite build, short bob cut blonde hair with straight bangs, and blue eyes. She possessed an elegant beauty and delicate, doll-like features.

"Don't worry about anything, we were simply walking by when we saw you falling from the sky... So we thought about helping you out for a while." The adventurer who seemed to be the group leader spoke, he's got blonde hair and blue eyes, a healthy skin color that has regularly been exposed to sunlight. He wears chainmail in which a metallic jingling can be heard coming from beneath his clothes, which sounded like it is caused by the friction of chains.

"My name's Termite, I'm the leader and warrior of our group; Foresight. This fellow beside me is Roberdyck, our priest." Termite introduces himself and his fellow members.

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Roberdyck greets. He has blonde hair and blue eyes with a neatly arranged hairstyle, and a beard that is thoroughly trimmed. His appearance is of a wise man that gives off a hearty impression.

"Next is Imana, a demi-elf, she's an archer." Termite added.

"Yeah, but don't get any ideas, even a demi-elf can have many ropes to a same bow." Imina said, trying to impress the newbie. She's a hybrid of a human and an elf. She has a very slim body. Be it the chest or waist area, but her purple hair and green eyes are splendid to say the least.

"And lastly, our prodigee, Arche. She's a genius mage." Termite ended, pointing at Arche, who was tightly grasping her magic wand.

She didn't say a word in response.

"Now that introductions have been made, to whom do we owe the pleasure?" Termite asked.

"M—My name... My name is Hiro... Hiro Nava." Hiro introduced himself.

The adventurers reacted surprised to this news, "Hm. Hiro... I don't know any country which houses people having a similar name." Roberdyck said.

"You must come from afar. Am I right?" Termite asked.

"In—Indeed! In fact, I come from a very far place. An entirely different world... I was sent here with no particular objective, other than being a source of entertainment for my master..." Hiro announced.

The adventurers paid rapt attention to his words. Certainly, in a modern-day setting, Hiro's appearance and demeanor might have raised eyebrows or even been perceived as eccentric. However, in this world, such unique individuals were not entirely uncommon, albeit still relatively rare.

"I see... That explains why you fell from the sky earlier." Termite said.

"You were falling so fast, I couldn't catch you in the air even with the [Fly] skill. But when you hit the ground, you were totally fine. That was weird." Arche expressed.

"But this certainly leaves many questions behind. Like who is your creator for exemple? My Divine would never create a subject for mere entertainment." Roberdyck said, with a grasp around his cross.

"M–My creator... Goes by the name of Akira... Lord Akira wanted to experience what it's like to send an individual of almost equal power to him, somewhere different. From what I know, he's prohibited from interacting directly, so he sent me as intermediary." Hiro said.

The adventurers gasped at what Hiro just said. An individual of almost equal power to a god?

"If what you say is true, you must be real strong. Gods are not to be messed with." Arche said, somewhat hope glimmering in her eyes.

"Yeah. If what you're saying is true then how about a little magic trick. Impress us." Imina said.

"Haha. I wouldn't mind a little something to refresh the thoughts." Roberdyck said, goodwillingly.

Then, suddenly, some noises were started to be heard around the adventurers. Being normally experienced and always on guard, they knew someone or rather something was watching them.

"Don't. Make. A. Sound..." Termite whispered slowly, "Wh—What's happening?" Hiro asked, worried.

"I'll tell you what's happening, this is a robbery..." A mysterious and unfamiliar voice declared, the figure slowly appearing as it moved towards them.

The adventurers looked around and saw multiple men coming out of the bushes. They were seven... no, eleven equipped and armed men.

"They're mercenaries..." Arche mumbled, holding her wand in a battle stance, ready to defend.

"Indeed young man. We were just patrolling in our domain when we saw you young ones having a rest around our territory. But we're willing to propose a deal, give us your most precious valuables and we'll let you leave, unharmed." A mercenary, certainly the leader, announced as he walked towards them.

Termite and his fellow comrades gained a combat stance and were already looking for openings and awaiting the green light to attack. The mercenaries did not need words to understand that the deal was off.

"Hm?" The chief mumbled. Tilting his head as he saw a particularly interesting individual, "You there. The boy with the blue hair. " He shouted, causing Hiro to flinch.

"Change of deals! Instead, I want the blue haired boy. He would sell for atleast a thousand gold coins in the slave market. The nobles love this kind of merchandise, perhaps even Coco Doll would be interesting in taking you in. Hahaha..." The chief mercenary announced.

However, to his surprise, Termite blocked his view with Hiro and pronounced solemnly, "Leave him outside of this, he's got nothing to do with you."

"Tch. Then, we'll murder in you cold blood, loot your treasures and steal the boy anyway. Boys, go!" The chief shouted.

"RAAAH!!" The mercenaries shouted, initiating the attack.

The world seemed to freeze in Hiro's perspective. It felt like this entire atta k was his fault. He also knew from Akira's knowledge core that Foresight was a team of workers whom eventually die due to their greed. Meaning he was expecting a more embarrassing sight from these thieves.

But to his surprise, it was nothing like he expected. These strangers were ready to defend him like he's part of the team, sure they were expecting a compensation but still, to protect a stranger from a dangerous and outnumbering group of mercenaries who demanded his body in exchange for their freedom...
