Chapter 1 - Chapter 001-1

New home, new job, new country. So many changes and I need this. I had a miserable year of loneliness and misery because of broken relationship. Humans are weird – even if relationship sucks – we still suffer after it's over. Doesn't matter how many arguments we had. Even when I caught him with miss "fake boobs". It hurt a lot. You can't just turn it off. One good thing happened from this cheating - no more dragging bad relationship. Because even if I ever could forgive him - I knew I could never trust him after this.

"Oi, Earth is calling Kitty!"

"Sorry El."

"What are you day dreaming about?"

"Just trying to sort everything in my head – everything is moving so fast. Just few weeks ago my life was in another country. And now look at me – I'm in London, starting all over. It is natural that I am remembering the past and him."

"It's enough! First of all he doesn't deserve even one single good memory after what he did. Secondly – it's been a year after you dumped his unfaithful ass."

"I know, I know. Just… we spend 5 years together. I was expecting engagement instead of…"

"Instead of miss "fake boobs" in his bed? Listen dear, I told you many times, but I'll repeat again – no man deserves the tears. He was an idiot, and I'm really happy you finally saw it too. I can't imagine why you were with him in general, you didn't seem very happy."

"To be fair – I do not know. I guess he was my first really serious relationship. Plus, you know, I'm 28 years old already. I'm not even a spinster already – I'm a thornback. And all the pressure from the family, that time is ticking, where is my husband and kids, really doesn't add much self confidence. I always thought that at this age I'll be happily married with a kid or two."

"You are focusing on wrong word of "happily married". Point is to be "happy" rather than "married". I still find it weird, that your relatives would rather see you married unhappily rather than single. Stop thinking so middle ages. You're young. You're single and it's great! Because you're in London. City of adventure and possibilities. It's common to live a little before you get tied up. And think how lucky you are! It's better to catch cheating ass before the wedding. What if you would be married with the kid and catch him only then? Darling, you dodged a bullet. Start new and be happy!"

"Sadly most of the guys our age are like toilets – they are either taken or full of crap."

"Not in London, Kitty. Here your life just begins", -winks Estel, "listen, you are young, smart and pretty. I'm super happy you moved in here. London was lonely without my bestie. It was sad to see you only twice a year. Also, I really think that changing surroundings will be beneficial. Socialise. Start loving yourself."

"Easy for you to say! It would be nice to have someone to love me too," I say sadly, "seems all my friends are paired up. Look at you and Frank., you two are so perfect together!"

"Well honey, love is accidental. You find it when you least expect it. You should never force it. The relationship you have with yourself on other hand, that's what you should focus on."

"Girls, where should I put these boxes?"

Frank's voice made me stop self pity myself and think fast where to store hundreds of boxes. I am really thankful for his help, as no way I would be able to move in myself.

"At the end of the corridor, thank you Frank!"

"Honey, I have an idea. Let's make a small BBQ party next weekend. Kitty needs to socialise and meet new people. We didn't see our friends for a while."

Estel beams in massive social gatherings, when I'm more of a loner. But all this move to London thing would never happen without her. As Estel needed bigger apartment to move in with Frank, she recommended me to the landlord and I got small but very cosy apartment close to the centre without painful application process. It was perfect – 1st floor, one bedroom apartment on a main street and close to the station. Weird apartment planning lead it to be very long and very narrow. But even so, it has it's perks - bedroom being so far away from main street that you couldn't hear any noise. It's window and balcony looking to opposite side – to serene garden belonging to ground floor hairdresser's salon. Estel said, that sometimes they did photoshoots there. But whole place were dead quiet after business hours. I can't hear my neighbours on one side due to staircase corridor and small build-in wardrobe in my bedroom. And on other side my apartment shares a wall with landlord's son's apartment. And he's never home. Estel said, that she barely saw him too. Apparently guy was always on a plane between London and Oslo for work. He kept this apartment as his London crashing place. So I got a great, cheap and cosy central apartment without any noise. It seemed too good to be true!

My work situation was also super easy, as the corporation I'm working for, has a branch in London and suddenly my position urgently opened up. I'm gonna have a courtesy meeting with my new boss, but it's decided, because they needed person to cover urgently (security screaning and training usually takes quite some time) so lucky me.

Can't wait my new life begin. Just first - unpack…
