There it was, a majestic face with greyish hair and serious eyes. King Arnold's face.
Lenn immediately touched his face, feeling the eyes, nose, and mouth, confirming that it wasn't an illusion. He was now his own father.
Knowing that this must be related to the "Reincarnation Poison", he hypothesized. -"My father's body didn't have a soul, allowing me to take over. Perhaps the poison managed to send part of my soul into his body, forming a link between us? "
Thinking this, he decided to test the extent to which he can control these bodies. Focusing on both views at the same time, he discovered that he could move both bodies at the same time.
Feeling two sets of senses at the same time was weird, but controlling the bodies somehow felt natural. It almost felt like he has had them since birth. Realizing that he didn't need to spend time practicing movement, he felt extremely relieved. How could he act as the king if he can't even move properly?
Just as he was thinking, a maid opened the door without knocking. Suddenly stopping in her tracks, she stared at the empty bed and the "King Arnold", unable to move.
"S-sorry, Your Majesty! Please forgive me for barging into your room! I am terribly sorry!" Seeing that the king was still in his pajamas in front of the dressing mirror, her expression turned into a mixture of surprise, fear, and confusion.
"Why didn't you knock? Didn't you know this is my room?" Lenn asked. The king had no way of knowing that he had been unconscious for a week, so Lenn asked, pretending that he didn't know the answer.
"P-Please allow me to go tell the doctors. They will be able to answer your question."
"Umm. Fine." Putting up a confused face, Lenn agreed.
Hearing the reply, the man escaped from the room like she was running away from some kind of demon.
Lenn let out a weird chuckle, touching his face once again. -"Is my father's face that scary?"-
While waiting for the doctors to come, he examined the bedroom. It was very large, mostly occupied by empty space. Checking the drawers near the bed, he found some magical items, including a few dimensional storage rings, a dagger, and a mirror. He knew what the mirror was because he had seen his father look at it many times. It was an artifact capable of replaying scenes of the past. (AN: similar to taking selfies and videos.) This item was useless to him since it almost only contained the queen's images.
Dimensional storage rings were storage items capable of storing any item they touch and contained a certain amount of storage space, usually around 1-3 cubic meters. These rings can only be used by the owner, but since he now possessed his father's body, he could use them. He found that one ring contained a few top-secret documents that even he didn't know about, while the others were filled with clothes.
After putting the rings on his fingers, Lenn picked a suit, making it suddenly appear in his palm. Looking at his new body, he couldn't help but feel satisfied.
-"This face is definitely fit for a king."- He thought to himself. -"At least more than my original face."-
While he was admiring his new appearance, several knocks came from the door.
"Come in."
Lenn examined the doctors as they were coming in. There were three doctors in total, all of them making surprised faces. It was obvious that they didn't think the king would wake up.
The leading doctor, Olivia, was King Arnold's most trusted doctor, one of the only S rank healers on the continent. Although Lenn couldn't recognize the other two, he was sure that they were also great mages.
Before he could ask, Olivia started to explain everything.
"Your Majesty, I am so happy that you are alright! You have been in a coma for more than a week! We were so worried, but we couldn't wake you up."
Then, she proceeded to tell Lenn everything else that happened, explaining the kingdom's situation and finally, Lenn's "death." Hearing that almost no one doubted his death, even Lenn was surprised at how well Luke managed to cover up the truth.
Although Lenn already knew everything, he still pretended to be surprised and sad when he heard of his own death.
"I know how it must feel to have your child pass away before you, but the kingdom still needs you. This is not the time to mourn his death, Your Majesty." Said Olivia with a sad expression.
Lenn paused for a while before talking. Although to others it might seem like he was shocked by the news, he was actually thinking about how to kill Luke as fast as possible.
"I understand. Bring Luke here, but don't tell him that I woke up." Lenn realized that he now possessed the body of the King, a rank S water mage. The best way to get rid of Luke was to kill him directly and prove that he was the killer.
Olivia was confused, but she didn't ask. The king would've definitely told her if she was supposed to know.

Luke was in his room, practicing swordsmanship by fighting an earth golem that he created when he heard Doctor Olivia's voice coming from the other side of the door.
"Prince Luke, you are needed in His Majesty's room. There is something important that happened, and I'll explain it to you once you get there."
"Agh, what happened to that codger again? Fine, I'll come."
-"Did he come back to life? No, that's impossible. Maybe he died? No, they would tell me if he died."- Luke wondered as he followed Olivia to Arnold's room.
The moment he opened the door, two streams of water penetrated his skull and heart, killing him instantly before he could even react. As a B rank mage, he didn't stand a chance against Lenn with Arnold's body.

Lenn walked towards his brother's body, leaving Olivia standing at the door, Flabbergasted. She had never thought that Arnold would kill Luke.
Stopping before Luke's body, Lenn took his ring off of Luke's hand. Now that the owner is dead, anyone can imprint it and use it. Lenn bit his fingertip, dripped some blood on the ring, and waited for it to get absorbed before putting it on.
A clear vial appeared in his hand. It was half full with a clear liquid, exactly like water, but only a blind person couldn't tell that whatever this was, definitely wasn't water.
Lenn handed the vial to Olivia, who still had her jaw fully extended, and said, "This is the poison Luke used to poison me and Lenn. Test it on someone if you don't believe me. I killed him for murdering his brother."
"...No need, Your Majesty. I'll call someone to take his body."
"Good. Do it quickly." Lenn kicked Luke's body out of the door and used water magic to wash the floor before he closed the door.
-"That went pretty well. They are probably confused as to how I knew Luke was the culprit. Well, who cares. It's not like they will do anything to investigate."- Lenn thought.
Looking out the window, he discovered that it was already nighttime. Lenn decided that since he had two bodies, having one sleep during the day while the other slept at night would provide maximum efficiency, and as a dark mage specializing in darkness magic, Lenn's original body was more suited for the night.
It was time to go to sleep and use his original body.

In a small hotel room in Vandel Village, Lenn sat on a bed. A normal person would be going to bed by now, but he just woke up. His body was fully charged and ready for action.
Although there are only seven elements that a mage can control(earth, fire, water, wind, darkness, light, space), there were many subtypes for each element. Some mages focus on spells, while others focused on strengthening their physical bodies. A light mage can be a healer, priest, paladin, or any mix between, while a dark mage can be a necromancer, assassin, etc.
Lenn was an A-rank assassin, so he had a strong but agile body while possessing several skills like hiding his presence, infusing his blade with dark mana, and much more, making him perfect for fighting in the dark.
He opened the door, and walked out of the room, hoping that it was gonna be a good day.
Or night, whatever.
