Chapter 277 - Symbols of Duty

Timothy and his crew came to an obstacle. Agents and the marines crossed their paths and blocked them from following the foremost agents.

However, thanks to their allies, the former Sun Soldiers, the Craftsmen Warriors, Empress Oriyana, and Phoebe, they managed to pile their way through them.

They successfully proceeded further, ascending the staircase to the waterfall tower while the foremost agents escorted Chiaki to la Cadena de Narón's headquarters to meet up with chief Elian.

"Wait, Tim. I need to give you something." Ayuka reached inside her pockets and dragged out a right-handed fingerless glove. "What's that for?" Kyora asked, running behind them.

"It's the glove I used to avoid burning my arm because of the ice. But I heard I didn't properly heal your arm, and I know it sounds strange, but this glove could shield you from damaging your arm more. And it's a right-handed glove, so it's perfect."

Timothy was running at the front, looking at Ayuka's glove. "Thanks." He put on the glove and looked at it. "You should've told me about it sooner," Ayuka claimed, disappointed at Timothy's silence regarding his hurt arm.

He scratched the back of his head in awkwardness. "Sorry, I didn't want to waste time at the Craftsman Island. I needed to take down Niklas as soon as possible. But it really bit me in the butt when I actually fought him." He looked behind him at Kou. "Thankfully, Kou came in clutch and took care of everything." He laughed, making Kou blush.

"Shut up. It's embarrassing." Kou called, slightly looking away. "That reminds me. How's your hand, Kou? You suffered a major wound when you hit that elephant." Ayuka expressed her worrisome thoughts and hoped for better. "It's better now. It still hurts a little, but I'll find a way to pull through." He glanced at his right hand, moving his fingers.

"I can try to heal it if you want," Ayuka spoke, but Kou shook his head in denial. "It's fine, really. I know you're still learning to heal broken bones, but we're in a rush, and I bet you can't heal while we're moving." Kou added, running next to Ralphie. "For a kid. You've gotten braver and more confident. Good for you!" Ralphie explained, grasping Kou's shoulder.

"Yeah, Ralphie's right! I still remember you as a coward from Golden Wasakon and Harventona Park. I guess you overcame some of your fear." Timothy laughed, teasing Kou, who looked at him unimpressed. "I know I'm the youngest one here, but I don't want to be a bother to the rest of you. I want to become someone who you can rely on for help."

Yumiko reached for the top of Kou's head and gave him a gentle pat. "Look at you go! I'd be dying to have a kid like you one day!"

Kou's eyes bulged out as he screamed in surprise. "Don't be ridiculous! Don't talk to me like I'm some sort of a helpless kid!" He claimed, irritated and embarrassed. "Right, kiddo." Kou's eyes became unamused. He grabbed his forehead and sighed.

"Look! It's the waterfall!" Kyora pointed her fingers in front. "The tower must be behind it."

The bright sun pierced through a hole in the ceiling as they ran through the waterfall, entering a round cave. It mostly had green terrain with some trees and grass growing, but at its far back stood the first tower.

They dashed for the entrance and began ascending the tower. It led up to the la Cadena de Narón's bridge.

"Guess we gotta go up," Yumiko exclaimed, and with the rest, started running up the looping stairs. Their feet reverberated through the mostly empty tower.

Phoebe and the rest fought their way through the large group of marines.

She crouched on the ground, pressing her palm to the floor, and released a vibration through the earth. She increased the gravity and forced several marines to their knees.

She stretched her left arm in front of her, aiming it at marines, and lifted a boulder below their feet to raise them in the air. The marines screamed and got hurled to the side.

Bow knelt on the ground and directed his bow in the air. "Sunfall Scatter!" He shot out a golden arrow that scattered into thousands and began raining down on the marines.

Bruno and Kira launched an attack together, punching and kicking their way through them while Trap rapidly whipped his cords and knocked marines to the side.

Luca transformed into black smoke and flew forward, reappearing in front of a marine, slicing his blade and avoiding delivering fatal wounds.

Blythe aimed his palm at a marine, paralyzing his body, and then kicked into his stomach. He spun around, molding a bloody sword in his hand, and swung it horizontally, cutting multiple marines at once.

Kizu stepped forward, tackled his shoulder into a marine, pushing him away, and then spun on the spot, releasing a circularly shaped slice that piled through the marines surrounding him.

Rika and Tinna fought back with their spears and defeated the marines surrounding them, while Oriyana made a handstand and delivered kicks at the incoming soldiers by spinning on her hand. "Blooming Dance!"

Bow faced forward and glanced at the agent, who had a mechanical eye. "Let's see how your arrows work against a cyborg." He laughed and pointed both of his arms in Bow's direction.

His hands were shaped into cannons, charging energy in them, and then shot out hundreds of bullets in Bow's direction.

Bow's eyes emanated an orange hue as he activated his forbidden technique of inspection.

He quickly started dodging the bullets after bouncing back.

He sprinted forward and slid his heels on the ground as an opportunity presented itself.

He released the string from his bow and fired an arrow at the agent.

The arrow bounced off his body, causing the agent to laugh. "The name's Joey, by the way." Joey tipped his body to one side and fired a hook at Bow with his palm.

Bow jumped to the side to avoid it and fired a barrage of arrows.

Joey moved his left arm in front of his torso and constructed a shield to defend the incoming arrows.

"I never fought a cyborg. My arrows don't do anything to him. This will require some thinking." Bow claimed and prepared to face Joey.

Bruno rammed his fist into the marine's face and knocked him to the side. "Bruno, once a sidekick of Niklas Weindorf. You terrorized the craftspeople's island and then teamed up with the white-haired pirates. It's about time to put you down for good. I'm Rosanna, a professional in hand-to-hand combat. Let's see if your skills to match anyone in a battle are true." She prepared a short fighting stance known as Han Zenkutsu dachi.

Bruno's hair swayed, and he fixed his sleeves. "Fine by me." Bruno prepared a fighting stance and readied for battle.

Phoebe pulled back her ropes after slipping a few marines and then noticed the final agent slowly approach her, holding his daggers and spinning them in his hands.

"Rumoil, one of the world government's assassins. Let's hope you received a proper definition of how to deal with gravitational terrain." She wrapped her ropes around her wrists and faced Rumoil.
