Chapter 238 - Forbidden Technique of Supremacy

The rarest skill a person can have overall is the "Forbidden Technique of Supremacy." The power prioritizes the user's willpower before releasing it in a continuous vibrational loop that instills terror in the target's psyche, renders it unbearable, and causes them to become helpless and frozen. Only a handful have had the opportunity to control it in the past, and many have died as a result.

Etuna's depraved mind kept picking up loud heartbeats. Even though she is a god, her might is insufficient to control the Supremacy's essence.

"This is unthinkable. A human like him possesses the power of Supremacy? Something so shallow, fragile, and underwhelming. I would never anticipate such behavior of a boy his age." Etuna questioned as Tim breathed on ahead.

Kyora continued locating Flare, but until now, she had no luck finding her. That little fire fox appeared as if it didn't exist until she came across a cave. It had blue-glowing stalactites. There wasn't much else going on, and not a single life was visible for a while.

But, after searching for a while longer, Kyora came across a group of people holding steel nets in their hands. There were three of them in total, and each was laughing. Luckily neither of the three spotted her, so she quickly hid behind a rock and observed.

Keeping her hand on the rock, she slipped her finger under her nose. "What are they doing up here? How did they even get up here? And why didn't Etuna stop them?" she listened to their conversation.

They laughed, "This little thing will give us some real good bucks, aye!" the middle man shouted. "Yeah, for' sure!" added the one on the right.

All they did was laugh until the man on the left raised a cage in which Kyora spotted a creature of flames. It hardly burned, and the creature looked exhausted and scared. "Flare." Surprisingly called Kyora, finding her long-lost friend. "What did they do to you?" she questioned but quickly became infuriated.

She vaulted over the rock and proceeded. "Hunting down this fox took longer than expected, but now we got 'er. All that's left is to sell her for a high price!" the other two men agreed with the middle one and never noticed Kyora sneaking behind them.

She opened her palm and struck the man's neck with her hand's border, who quickly dropped the cage and collapsed on the floor unconscious. "What in the world?!" the man on the left questioned, seeing his pal on the floor. "Who're-!" he couldn't finish as Kyora dragged her instep into his face and kicked him back.

She quickly turned to face the final man and raised her palm, preparing it to strike. "Whoa! Hold on! Hey! We don't want any trouble!" he shouted, scared and worried, while Kyora kept her serious expression. "You don't want trouble? Then why did you capture that fire fox? She's an important being and the only creature who can cure Etuna's illness. Why should you not be looking for trouble after all of that?"

"Whoa! Whoa! We don't need to get all aggressive now, do we? We just wanted some cash, that's it. Can't a man get some money for life?" Kyora held an even scarier face afterward. "She's not for sale! You greedy bastards keep on hunting her down, but I think it's about time that your mischief's over." Without restraining herself any longer, she dashed in front of that man who tried to block her, but she suddenly slipped behind him and struck the man's nape.

He immediately collapsed on the snow.

"These were just some random men. Even so, I hated them the instant I saw them." She quickly rushed toward the cage and crouched in front of the fox. "Flare! Hey, it's me! Kyora!" Flare opened her sweet eyes and quickly approached her with a smile and a cute little bark. "Good to see you, girl! I'm so sorry! I didn't know where you ran off to, so I couldn't have come sooner. But I promise that you're going to be all right now." Flare bounced inside the cage and made a raspy bark.

"I'll get you out of there, all right?" Kyora pet Flare's head after she removed the burning effect and searched for the key that one of the men most likely had.

Tim wasn't able to understand what made Etuna immobile. He managed to notice that some of her control was back in her hands, but that still didn't mean he could simply walk away.

Etuna's face returned to its utmost seriousness, but some of the sweat was still visible and was slipping down her head. "Did something happen? Was she able to hold back the corruption from breaking out? Or was there a totally different reason why she stopped?" he questioned with silent thoughts, but as before, Etuna read them. "He doesn't even know what he did? This boy has so much hidden potential."

Tim lowered his arms, watching if Etuna would act differently. It didn't go well as her corruption overtook her control, and once more, she struggled to contain it.

A whisper of wind breezed, and she opened her arms on the sides. Electricity started gathering around them, shaping them into lightning bolts. It sparked, and they were then thrown forward at hyper speed.

Aimed at Tim, they planned to wound him badly, so he stood his ground and spread his arm to leap high in the air, which allowed the two bolts to sweep beneath him.

He pulled his right arm back and released blue flames, which he tossed at Etuna. Etuna extended both her arms outwards and then joined them ahead of the torso. She gathered it into one point and shot them out in a gigantic wave of thunder.

They blew through the flame and stretched in Tim's direction, who crossed both his arms to cover his face. It struck him dead on, releasing a relentless pulse that detonated and forced Tim to be blown back through the harsh weather.

He groaned, trying to hold back the pain in both arms as the thunder's effect installed paralysis in Tim's limbs. Its force tore his sleeves and even caused his skin to get scorched.

In mid-air, he tossed his body into a backflip to land safely on the snow-covered grass. "That stung like hell." He claimed as his arms continued to shake. He sweated, trying to sustain the damage. "Her lightning's volts are worse than those I felt in the past. They feel hotter on the touch and the paralyzing effect loops inside my arms. I clearly see the difference between a god's power and the mortals' one."

He tried to move his arms but couldn't feel the nerves. On top of that, his right arm made it worse to hold the pain together.

Etuna stepped with her right arm and leg back, stretched them, and created another bolt in her grasp. "Damn it. I don't need my arms!" he circled his right leg behind him and spun on the ground, creating a weaker blue fire around him.

Etuna then finally tossed the lightning bolt, and it barged its way through the storm. Tim kicked in front of him, releasing a blue burning crescent that rushed forward. But just like a few seconds ago, Etuna's power overwhelmed the weakened flames, phasing through and flying in Tim's direction.

He opened his eyes wide in shock, knowing the lightning bolt wouldn't miss him. But a fire fox came running from the distance and sprinted up to Tim, leaping onto his shoulder with a confident face. "What?! Who're-!" he didn't finish when the fox seared orange flames around him.

The lightning bolt hit Tim dead-on once again, and another explosion occurred.

To be continued...
