Yumiko joined them on board Sanguine Rose as they traveled over the vast ocean to their new location and worked together to find Ralphie's close friend and well-known craftsman Harry Dillinger.
Tim was seated in the middle of the ship and was holding a broom. "Really, did you buy extra brooms for the ship? Isn't one sufficient?" He refused as Natan stood close to him.
"I only chose the top-notch brooms that the Harventona Cleaning Store had to offer. You ought to be grateful."
While everyone else focused on the weather, which appeared to be extremely calm at the moment, Tim gave him an unamused look in the eyes. "Wait hold on!" until he finally hopped from excitement. "I forgot to show you something amazing!"
All eyes were focused on him as he attracted everyone's attention. "Oh, really...? Impress me..." Putting her right arm on her hip, Karisa sighed. Tim gave a quirky smile and a giggle in response.
"So I figured out something about my abilities when I was a girl." He spoke while acting foolishly. Others decided to watch despite thinking it would be pointless.
"Look!" Tim instantly twirled on the ground and set his entire body ablaze, forcing everyone to back away before he could start a fire aboard the ship. "Hey, be careful! You'll burn the ship!" Ralphie called, but Tim abruptly absorbed his flames inside of himself and stopped.
Tim kept his eyes closed until he eventually opened them, showing a blue glow inside. Ralphie instantly spit out the tea and, like everyone else, was taken aback.
Everyone else at the table was frozen, their eyes twitching. "What do you think of me now, then?" They saw a shift in his entire body. His chest became larger, his frame became more slender, and his white hair grew longer.
They noticed that the person below was a girl right away. More specifically, Tim was able to revert to Tem, and his voice soon changed to one that was calming, gentle, and high-pitched.
She winked at them, laughed, and raised two fingers in the air. "Guess who's back? Tem is back in the house—or rather, on the ship..." Codey continued to ignore everything and keep his attention on the road ahead until Kou suddenly let out a loud scream.
"You've got to be joking, right? Don't tell me you'll need Oriyana to change back into a male again." He yelled till Tem sighed and turned to face him.
"Nope, all I have to do to get become the original is set myself on fire. There's only one issue that I can't resolve: when I change into a girl, for some reason, I keep revealing my stomach."
Karisa was immediately annoyed as she peered at Tem's chest. "Why, I wonder. Seriously, how on earth did you come up with such a moronic idea?"
"Dumb? Hey, you called this dumb after I had to remain in this condition for the entire four days? I kind of liked being a girl, actually! My body felt a lot lighter, which made moving around much simpler. In addition, if I change into a girl I can do something that I can't do as a boy, so I don't want to throw that away!"
When she called out to him, Kou's arms hung in front of him. He questioned, "For instance?" as Tem felt ashamed. "Actually, I don't know, to be honest. I... uh, suppose that children adore me more."
Yumiko cutely gasped as she felt ecstatic to find Tem back in front of her. "Tim and Tem and I can be aboard the ship, right? The best time of my life is right now!"
Slowly collapsing forward and on the verge of passing out, Kou immediately grasped her. "Whoever you are, Tim or Tem, you better change back into a male! This is becoming strange!"
Tem grunted and then spun around on the ground before lighting herself on fire to finally change back into a guy. "There, how do you feel?" Yumiko eventually came to, and Kou smacked his own forehead as he watched Yumiko get to her feet.
"I guess you can trick people more easily now, so I guess that ability isn't all that useless." Ralphie continued to drink tea as he added
"I mean, I guess you could undress yourself to help Elliott man up." After swiftly taking in everyone's complaints, particularly Tim's loud yell, Codey added and Tim continued. "That is *not* the reason I came up with this technique! And some of it stayed inside my body since I could only do it because Oriyana changed me into a a girl!"
Everyone else outside on the ship, excluding Elliott and Ayuka, proceeded to occupy themselves for a short while before an unexpected event ended their enjoyment.
Fourteen minutes passed...
Tim screamed as he hung over the side of the ship's board. Yumiko and Kou, who were doing their best to prevent him from falling into the water, were holding his legs back. "How did you end up in this dire situation?" Kou yelled in shock.
Tim kept swinging his arms, and Codey kept trying to steer the crow's nest through the waves. He yelled, "Could you keep it down?!" while Karisa gave him an unfunny look and asked a question in response.
"I don't really get why navigating would require concentration."
"Hold on to me tight!" Tim waved his arms and screamed till a storm suddenly emerged in the ocean. They took a closer look and stopped moving.
As soon as Ayuka burst through the door, she yelled out to everyone. "Guys, we need to locate a halt soon, like an island! A storm is approaching, and it will soon hit us as well!"
"That's my job!" Codey yelled and grumbled while holding binoculars from above. He swiftly called out again, and listened to Ayuka as she said, "Well, you're doing it poorly!"
"There are no nearby islands; if we want to get to our next stop, we'll have to go through it."
Tim noticed a massive silhouette of uncertainty before Yumiko and Kou pulled him up. "There's something below us, guys." Everyone glanced over the edge as he called out to them, noticing that the silhouette was growing larger and closer to the surface.
Ralphie took a glance around and quickly expressed amazement. "That doesn't resemble a sea creature at all. It is excessively large." Before they could respond, there was a thunderclap, and the sky went gloomy. Rapid rain began to fall on them as the sun was completely obscured by clouds.
The Sanguine Rose was being tossed around like a pillow by the irrational ocean waves.
Each of them had to tightly grasp on to the nearest object since the wood on the ship started to crumble under the pressure of the water. While Tim continued to get splashed by the sea water, becoming weaker by the second, the majority of them stayed near the fence.
Kou lost control of Tim's shoes, and only Yumiko was able to maintain tight control. "Kou! Hold onto him tightly! I can't keep my balance while holding him by myself!"
"I'm sorry, Yumiko!!" Kou shouted out to her and grabbed her by the hip. "Not so tight, not so tight!" As the ship began to be thrown to the side, both of their feet began to slid slowly on the wet wood.
"We need some help here guys!" Natan, who was nearest, was able to grasp hold of Kou, but just then, a huge ship started to emerge from the depths directly in front of everyone else. The Crow's Nest on which Codey was standing entirely collapsed, and Ayuka, who was standing next to Ralphie, couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"Is that a ship?! How does that make sense?!" She yelled as her hold began to slip. She was soon splashed in by a large source of oceanic water and shoved away from the edge. Ralphie quickly reached out and grabbed her hand. "I've got you!" The group's remaining members could only sense how many of the ship's components were beginning to shatter.
"We can't hold on much longer! This fence is going to break and all three of us are going to fall in the water with Tim!"
Natan's comment was promptly picked up by Yumiko, who yelled. "Stay calm! Being nervous about it only makes things worse!" They all panted in exhaustion as they watched Yumiko's hands gradually slip off Tim's sneakers.
"I can't! I feel his wet shoes slipping over my skin!" Others persisted in hanging on even though they soon felt the wood below them begin to fracture. Tim hoped for the best, but he kept screaming out to them since he had been more afraid of drowning ever since he had entered this world. "Don't let me go! I don't like water! I told you!"
"We're trying!!" Kou shouted as Yumiko, Natan, and all of their feet began to even further slide across the ship's board.
The agonizing storm's waves only got stronger and worse with each passing second. Moments later, they all recognized that the ship that surfaced from below them could accommodate fifty of their ship.
"Guys! Tomomi, what about her? She remained inside. She needs a hand, and soon!" Codey yelled before plummeting into the air with a loud cry as he lost his footing in the crow's nest. As everyone yelled his name, he plunged into the sea.
They soon noticed someone standing atop the ship. The person holding his arms crossed behind his back appeared to be some kind of pirate. As soon as he vanished, all of the friends quickly slipped down their ship and followed Codey into the sea.
They entered a typhoon as they each started to sink down further and further into the water. Codey, Tim, Yumiko, Kou, Natan, Ayuka, Karisa, Natan.
"Where's Elliott?!" were Ayuka's final words.
They were all sucked up by the enormous typhoon and disappeared into the depths of the ocean. Nobody was able to stay on the ship, and nobody had the chance to save Tomomi or get her off the ship.
To be continued...
