Chapter 36 - Arc 2(6)

As Feng Li tenderly caressed the little fox, a contented purr emanated from the tiny creature, filling the tent with its soft, melodic notes.

Amused by the fox's newfound companionship, Feng Li contemplated giving it a name. He leaned in closer to the little fox and proposed, "I didn't give you a name, how about I give you one... How about Xiaobai?"

Upon hearing this proposed name, the little fox seemed to take offense. It reacted swiftly, delivering a playful slap to Feng Li's arm with its petite paw, a gesture that clearly conveyed its disapproval of such a simplistic name. It appeared the fox had a rather high opinion of itself.

Their brief exchange was interrupted by the arrival of a soldier, a dutiful messenger of sustenance. Respectfully addressing Feng Li, he announced, "Your Highness, the food is ready."

Feng Li acknowledged the soldier's report with a nod, silently dismissing him to fulfill his duty. Returning his attention to the little fox, Feng Li leaned down and spoke softly, "Naughty little guy, I'll bring your food here. Be good and don't make any trouble. I'll be back soon."

With those words, Feng Li rose from his seat and made his exit, leaving the little fox to its own devices within the cozy confines of the tent.

With Feng Li's departure, the tent became the stage for a remarkable transformation. The once-naughty fox, who had been reclining on the ground, began to radiate an incandescent light that enveloped his entire form. In the blink of an eye, he had been metamorphosed into a completely naked human.

This human form was a sight to behold, a blend of exquisite beauty and innocence. His eyes were large, akin to those of a delicate doe, framed by long, luxurious lashes. His lips, small and tinted with a delicate pink, gave his face an irresistibly charming quality. Though slender and noticeably shorter than Feng Li, he possessed an ethereal grace that belied his youthful appearance. His fair skin boasted the faintest hint of baby fat still lingering on his rosy cheeks. His raven-black hair cascaded gracefully down his slim back, reaching down to his delicate waist, creating an image so alluring that one might easily mistake him for a woman.

With his transformation complete, the formerly naughty fox placed his hands on his petite waist, offering a childish and slightly indignant retort. His cheeks flushed a delicate shade of pink as he gazed toward the entrance of the tent. "You, Human, dare to call me naughty, huh? I am a cute fox! Furthermore, my name is Yu Xin, a name bestowed upon me by my daddy, not Xiaobai. These humans truly lack naming sense."

Yu Xin lowered himself onto the chair, his naked form barely registering the rustic piece of furniture beneath him. As he settled in, his lips formed a delicate pout, his thoughts meandering through the events that had led him to this point. "If it weren't for finding my father," he mused inwardly, "I would have never ventured this close to a human... even though this particular human is undeniably handsome."

A sudden rush of warmth swept over Yu Xin's cheeks, his heart betraying his emotional turmoil with a rapid, stuttering beat. "Why am I blushing like this?" he wondered, his internal monologue a flurry of confusion. "And why is my heart racing so uncontrollably? Daddy was right, these humans are nothing but trouble."

Soon, his thoughts shifted, focusing on the one person who truly mattered to him. His fingers, resting on his bare thighs, clenched and unclenched as his anxiety welled up. "Daddy must have discovered the letter I left before I departed," he reasoned, his voice soft and reassuring as he spoke to himself Yu Xin's small hand lightly patted his own cheek, a reassurance to himself. "Yu Xin, Yu Xin, don't fret. Everything will be alright."

Yu Xin's keen fox senses alerted him to someone approaching the tent. Swiftly, he transformed back into his fox form, his furry ears perking up as he sniffed the air. It was an instinctive check to confirm the newcomer's identity—was it his human?

Yet, the scent that wafted towards him was entirely unfamiliar. Unlike the captivating grape-like fragrance of his human, this newcomer carried a strong, almost overwhelming perfume that Yu Xin could only associate with the women of the human world. Confusion settled in. "How can there be a woman in the middle of this forest?" he pondered.

A painful thought soon emerged, one that tugged at his heartstrings and inexplicably brought tears to his fox eyes. "Could this be the concubine of my human, or perhaps a prostitute he's summoned to his side?" He questioned why he felt such anguish over a human he had just met today. The complexity of these emotions left him baffled, making him wonder why he yearned for the human to belong to him alone, even though their encounter was so brief.

As Yu Xin got lost in his thoughts, the woman stealthily slipped into the tent, her entrance almost unnoticed. Her beauty was undeniable, but her eyes betrayed a different story—greed and avarice seemed to be her driving forces. Draped in a pristine white cloak, she began to disrobe upon entering the tent, revealing a set of clothes that left little to the imagination. Her attire was translucent, leaving her inner garments clearly visible through the thin fabric.

The woman's disdainful gaze fell upon the little fox that occupied the tent. "How could there be a wild animal in here?", she exclaimed, her voice laced with disgust.

However, she didn't make any move to touch Yu Xin. Instead, she commented, "A wild animal, but just a mere child. What harm could it possibly do to me?" With this, she walked over to the corner, lighting an incense stick. Returning to Yu Xin, she seized him by the scruff of his neck, tossed him to the far end of the tent, and claimed a seat on the nearby chair.

Yu Xin swiftly regained his composure and managed to land without any harm. Though he couldn't fathom why the woman had chosen to light an incense stick in the corner of the tent, the revealing nature of her clothing left him with little doubt about her intentions—to seduce his human.

However, before he could take any action, Feng Li stepped into the tent.

The moment Feng Li entered, he detected the scent of an aphrodisiac lingering in the air. It didn't take long for him to piece together the situation, especially upon seeing the woman clad in her provocative attire. A wave of disgust washed over him, and he called out sharply, "Li Long!"

In response to the Regent's summons, Li Long rushed into the tent, quickly assessing the scene. He understood the situation at a glance. With deft precision, he seized the woman, delivering a swift blow to the back of her neck. As she slumped into unconsciousness, Li Long swiftly carried her out of the tent. He secured her firmly and draped a blanket over her, concealing her lewd attire from view.

After Li Long had escorted the woman out, Feng Li turned his attention to the corner of the tent, where the incense stick had been placed. He approached it deliberately, ensuring that the aphrodisiac's influence would not spread further. He knew that a small amount of the substance posed no threat to him, but he shuddered to think about what might have happened if the tent had been heavily infused with the dangerous substance. One thing was certain: he would have taken the woman's life rather than succumb to her charms.

With the incense stick safely extinguished, Feng Li turned his focus to the little fox. He spoke with genuine concern in his voice as he approached, asking, "Did she do anything to you, Xiaobai?"

He gently lifted Yu Xin into his arms, cradling the small creature carefully as he conducted a thorough examination to ensure that Yu Xin was unharmed. Only once he was certain of the fox's well-being did he allow himself to breathe a sigh of relief.

Li Long returned to the tent, positioning himself a respectful distance away from Feng Li. He reported, "Your Highness, she's securely tied down."

Feng Li's expression darkened as he responded, "Find out who sent her here. These individuals have gone too far, resorting to such measures as using aphrodisiacs."

Li Long couldn't help but gulp nervously, well aware that whoever was responsible for this act would face severe consequences. He thought to himself, 'The person behind this is in for a world of trouble.'

Sensing Feng Li's rising anger, Yu Xin moved closer and began licking his hands in an attempt to comfort him.

Feng Li, in response, gradually eased his aggression, gently patting Yu Xin's head. He issued a command to Li Long, his tone firm, "Change the chair immediately."

Li Long nodded in acknowledgment and promptly exited the tent, leaving Yu Xin and Feng Li alone in their temporary shelter.
