Chapter 19 - Combat Training (4)

"They put out a really decent show over there."

I slowly descended from the tree where I had been watching everything unfold. I turned around and headed in the opposite direction to where they were standing.

I drew my sword and began to move in that direction.

"I believe it is now my turn to put things to the test. Hehe..."

The test is not yet completed. There's another one in this direction as well. Many people will overlook this, resulting in lower test scores.

Then the body of the Blazing Horned Bull began to vanish gradually. It's an AI-style model that looks a lot like the monster. It has been designed in such a way that its life and attacks are identical to those of a real monster. These are used to provide students with training. It's designed in such a way that it's difficult for people to tell them apart from the original.

Well, there are so many amazing things in the world.

I searched the area thoroughly, and there were no drone cameras or other devices in the area. As the rest of the group began to leave, the people in charge of keeping an eye on us also exited. I don't have to be concerned about revealing my sword art any longer.

"I spotted it, haha." It's quite a distance from the first one.

It seems it still didn't sense my presence.

I can only use one move from the sword art with my current ability.

Right now, I can just use horizontal slash. As a result, I'll have to be very careful about how I use this. I'm dead meat the instant it detects my existence.

I need to be scared at this moment but for some reason, I feel excited. Despite the fact that my face is sweating and my heart is racing, I for some reason very ecstatic.

I took my stand and kept my hand on the handle of the sword. I took a deep breath and leaped forward. In a blink of an eye, I was beside the bull and my sword was near its hump. Sensing danger it started to react immediately.

Then I lunged sideways and used all of my strength to sever the Blazing horned bull's hump. Because it happened so quickly, it was unable to react in time.

As I changed my trajectory mid-air, I fall off rolling without finding my balance.

"Ouch, that hurts."

I carefully stood up and brushed off the dust that had accumulated on me.

"Ah, I did it."

What I did right now is nothing compared to that what I saw from the grandmaster. It's not even 0.1 percent of his. That is why this is getting me very excited.

"Haha..." I laughed and started walking towards the central area.

[Team 5:- Total time: 45 minutes 48 seconds. 7/100]

7th out of 100 teams.

Trina's look was not pleasant, despite the fact that she finished in the top half of the teams.

But she didn't mind too much because her grades were dependent on her individual achievement. Thomas and John's teams, predictably, won first and second place, respectively. Then came the teams of Ivy and Andrea.

She, on the other hand, was unconcerned about the outcome. She's here because her parents are persuading her to join Horizon, but she has no desire to do so. She'd rather be doing research than doing this.

After a while, everyone began to congregate in the central area, where Jane Doherty awaited them.

Jane began to speak.

"So far, everyone has had a taste of how the training sessions will be conducted. Everything was shot by drones, and a copy will be distributed to each team. So go ahead and read it. So, why were you quick or slow to chase your monster, how compatible was your squad with the monster, and how could you be better for next time? It will be factored into your grade."

Jane continued,

"Well, I must say that certain teams performed quite well. Just the top ten teams finished their missions entirely, with the others only completing half of their job. Many of you believed there was just one monster at your designated spot, but there were actually two monsters."

"Huh?" Trina's brows twitched.

'There were two of them. I didn't even realize it. But who killed the second one?' Trina shifted her gaze to her teammates.

"Oh my god! There were two of them. So who killed the second one?" William asked in shock.

"Haha, Now I understand why Trina left very early. Man, she is so scary." Michal said.

Alexandria nodded in agreement.

"We tried our hardest to kill just one with all of us, but she managed to kill one by herself. Now I see why she joined us. Jane remarked that we should work together to achieve better grades, so she joined us, and as we were already fatigued from killing, she went ahead and finished the other one by herself." William expressed his feelings.

Michal and Alexandria agreed with a nod.

Hearing their conversation made her even more irritated as she isn't the one who killed it.

Then she realized that one of their group members was missing.

She didn't even take him into consideration from the starting as she heard his rank.

'What is his name again?'

'Tsk, I'm unable to remember.'

She then took a brief look around the central area, where everyone was gathered.

Then she spotted a dull-looking guy in a corner who was standing there alone and yawning.

'Did he do it? There is no way right? Unless he's hiding something, someone of his rank wouldn't be able to do it.'

When he turned around, their gazes locked. He then bolted away from the spot.

'He is extremely suspicious.' I'll dispatch someone to acquire his information.' Thinking that Trina walked away.

"That concludes today's session. So, everyone is free to leave now." The class was dismissed by Jane.

Everyone packed their things and started to leave.
