Opening my eyes at the sound of my alarm I lay on my bed doing nothing for a few seconds. I stop the alarm once I feel I'm awake enough and go prepare for my day.

It's currently 5:14 AM and I have a few minutes to relax. I check on the novel I've been uploading for the past year.

"These people don't know anything. I've been trying to pump out more chapters and they just complain. Ungrateful bastards."

Recently many have started calling my novel trash and saying it's not worth reading. At first, people said it was good and hoped I could release more which I did. I was glad they enjoyed my story. Some even wanted to donate for extra chapters. I couldn't believe it.

It was all going well but after some time they switched on me and started saying that it was predictable and boring. That the fights weren't exciting and the protagonist was too overpowered. Isn't this what they wanted? Suddenly I heard a knock at the door.

Tap tap tap

"Jason the Uber's going to be here in 9 minutes so finish getting ready."

"Alright bro, thanks I'll be ready don't worry."

I look at the time. It's 5:30 AM, Josh sure is punctual as always. I don't know how I'd do without him, to be honest. Let's start the day off good and forget about my novel. I go to the living room and wait for the Uber.

Entering Uber we have some small talk with them and are set on our way to work.

"It's very foggy today in the morning. Is it always like this?"

Emma asked, who's our Uber driver. She dropped someone nearby but isn't around here.

"Not always but for the most part it is during winter."

I answered her with a simple answer. I'm not trying to talk to someone as I'm still tired and sleepy. As we are about to get off the freeway I heard a loud honk. Turning to my left all I saw were giant front lights from a semi-truck brightly on Josh's face. I could see the fear in his face as he stared at the oncoming truck. Why is this happening? No not Josh. Reaching out to grab and move him. Time appeared to be moving slow.

"Josh mov-"

I couldn't finish what I wanted to say as it all went dark.

Gaining my consciousness back I tried to open my eyes. After continuous failures, I tried to move my body. I felt like I was in some fluid floating. Kinda like Vegeta in the medical machine after getting his cheeks clapped by Zarbon.

Wait the semi-truck! Josh! I squirm around trying to get up or do something. I couldn't just stay still. Josh and I have always had each others back. I need to know how he's doing. After moving a lot I hear some voices.

"He seems to be active a lot today dear."

I heard a woman's voice. She seems to be everywhere? How is that possible?

"Let me see."

Someone get pushed toward me. Is the pod shrinking? Wait, no way this is real.

"Be gentle dear I don't want you to hurt him."

"Don't worry sweetie. He is also my baby boy."
