Although Master Zhang was much more tactful, Elder Xu was as sharp as a bullet. "It's a good thing that I managed to change the rules," he replied. "Else I wouldn't have known that the Association was accepting this many useless musicians."
"Rules naturally have to change in response to the new developments."
As he said this, he turned to Master Zhang. "Do you have any objections? Do you really think that someone who doesn't have any solid foundation has any right to enter the Association?"
"No!" Master Zhang said quickly. "I mean, if you really want to change the rules, then shouldn't you have given the notice in advance? Wouldn't this be unfair to all the students?"
"All the students?"
Elder Xu scoffed. "Do you mean, your own student?"
Master Zhang didn't know why the man had phrased it that way, but he still nodded in affirmation.
