As soon as they entered the room, Yao Yan gestured for her to take a seat.
Then, he poured himself some tea and took a sip, all while staring at Yao Tang over the rim of his cup. "You came out of there without any bodyguards?"
Yao Tang's head jerked up at that.
Her eyes were wide with shock. She didn't expect him to know about that place.
Yao Tang quickly looked away when their gazes met.
It was not that she was afraid.
Her eyes were merely tired, that was all.
Yao Yan placed his teacup on the table and calmly regarded her. "Were you all by yourself since leaving that place?"
Yao Tang nodded. "I applied for a leave of absence."
But he didn't care about why and how she left. "It's very dangerous for you to be alone, do you know that? Why didn't you bring your bodyguards with you?"
"City A is quite safe."
Yao Yan raised an eyebrow. "How many bodyguards did you have with you back then?"
