Over at City A, Yao Ran was standing in a desolate corner of the banquet hall, anxiously pacing back and forth.
She had been so sure that she would be able to win Yang Ming over, which was the only reason why she had dared to attend today's event. She thought that with him by her side, the Meng family wouldn't dare to touch her.
Yao Ran had never imagined that things would turn out the way that they had.
Yang Ming was too much for her to handle, after all.
He was still asking around about the second branch of the Yao family. He was obviously more interested in them. What made matters worse, was that he had already expressed his dissatisfaction with her.
As things stood, Yao Ran no longer felt secure that Yang Ming would protect her should the Meng family decide to hunt her down.
Unfortunately for her, it had been a while since the banquet had begun. News of her attendance must have reached the Meng family by now.
