Synopsis
As the Empire was trying to invent a faster way to travel through space, an accidental discovery was made. With very small tweaks to the prototype they had already made, it was possible to transport a person to another dimension, universe, or maybe even multiverse. It didn't take long until the Empire attempted something crazy. One of their main scientists involved in making the technology volunteered to test a theory. What if you built a beacon in that new world? 5 years after the initial test, the Empire received a signal from that very same scientist with all the information they required to make a stable two-way road between the world. And thus began a new age. Hundreds of agents were sent into new worlds to do the same thing as the scientist. Once a bridge was formed, the new world was quickly tamed under the overwhelming firepower of the Empire and their resources plundered. This story begins as a new scientist attempts to start a new age once again but made a slight miscalculation. *Obligatory 'my first novel work' notice. I've been reading novels both on this site and off it for quite a long time. Despite never taking that step before now, I've thought about writing before and even constructed a different potential fantasy world when going to sleep. I'll hope to be as consistent as possible and get out a decent amount of chapters.*

Chapter 1 - Chapter 001

Inside a room of unknown purpose, two men stand surrounded by monitors and desks.

"This better be something important Dr. Federick, you know very well how busy I am," one of the men said sternly. He was dressed in a military outfit with his left chest covered in medals showing his high standing.

"This is certainly important enough to warrant a visit from you General" Dr. Frederick responded before gesturing to his assistant.

With a few keyboard clicks, an image of a 3-dimensional map popped up on the monitor closest to the General.

The map consisted of a white sphere in the middle surrounded by hundreds of green, orange, and red spheres.

"As you well know, it's been over a hundred years since we perfected the use of dimensional rebirths, allowing us to 'transmigrate' agents to new worlds ripe for the taking. Armed with the skills we've trained into them, they do everything in their power to gather the people and resources necessary to build the equipment that allows us to create a stable space rift for colonization"

With a nod from the General, Dr. Frederick continued, "However what you might not know is that every single world that we've sent an agent to, has been relatively close to us, dimensionally speaking. Any attempts to travel to worlds beyond a certain point have been blocked rather harshly, with most attempts leading to the implosion of the agent's soul."

"Yes yes yes, I'm aware Dr, get to the point" The General spoke impatiently.

"Apologies sir," the doctor said timidly before quickly returning to his old excited state, "I believe that with my new method, we'll be able to finally send people past this line, giving us a glimpse of what's behind the veil. Due to the lack of high-quality agents, however, I've been unable to put this new method to the test."

"We both know that you should be able to get Rank-E and lower agents without a problem so what rank is it you want?" the general uttered, looking at the doctor suspiciously.

"This is uncharted territory General, without a Rank-B or higher I won't be able to get results back until maybe even decades later." Frederick conveyed with conviction.

"Dr... You know full well how difficult it is to produce agents of that rank, just the brainwashing alone takes enough resources and time to produce hundreds of Rank-E's. There's no chance that I can approve using agents of that rank with entirely untested technology." he said while shaking his head.

"This is my life's work General Heywood, there's gotta be a way" the doctor pleaded.

"I'm sorry Dr. Even I have to give proper reasons to use a Rank-B agent," Heywood spoke as he turned and walked towards the door, "You know Dr. Next time you wanna talk to me, just call" he uttered before exiting the room.

Silence fell on the room as the general left. Frederick looked at the door before sighing deeply and turning to look at his assistant, "Simon, prepare E-11 for dimension transmigration"

"Yes sir!" Simon said before running off to the storage room.

Upon entering, two rows of vertical pods containing human males and females decorated the walls.

Walking up to the one labeled "E-11", Simon started the warm-up procedures.

Inside the pod, laid a man with short golden blond hair and blue eyes. On his forehead laid a tattoo labeled "E-11" showing perfectly his status as not a human, but merely property.

Agents are bred like cattle and then brainwashed into slaves of the higher-ups of the empire. Depending on the skills the agents learn, they're placed in ranks ranging from A to F, with F being the worst.

With a generous amount of smoke, the door to the pod opens allowing E-11 to step out.

"Follow me" Simon declared in a commanding tone before starting his marsh into the lab.

Without any complaints, E-11 follows behind Simon with a vacant yet still sharp look in his eyes.

Arriving in the lab, E-11 is strapped into a new pod, this time much larger.

After a few more hours of preparing from Simon, it seems that he's ready to get Dr. Frederick in for the last checks before executing the transmigration.

As Frederick walks into the lab and finishes double-checking all the equipment, he walks up to E-11 for the final orders for "it" to follow once transmigrated.

"The maximum time to reach the goal should be 10 years, If you feel that to be impossible then take your life to send us a signal. If you feel that you can speed up the completion of the goal, feel free to take 10 to 20% more risk than previously instructed." Despite not getting any sort of reaction, he knows that the agent registered the orders.

Returning behind the protective glass, Dr. Frederick and Simon start up all the equipment. The pod begins shaking as a needle is inserted into the base of E-11's skull and injects a liquid.

As the pod shakes more and more, spatial rifts appear all around the room before getting absorbed by the pod. After just a few minutes the room suddenly stops all motion, as if all of time stopped, but this doesn't last for long. All of the sudden a massive spatial rift appears around the pod before crashing into it and obliterating it, leaving nothing behind to be salvaged.

Despite the violent reaction, Dr. Frederick starts jumping up and down in excitement, "IT WORKS!!".

At the same time, somewhere far far away, a young human male could be seen lying in a field surrounded by other humans.

"What happened Anne?!" one of the larger women yelled at the child next to her as she fell to her knees and held the unconscious boy.

"We were talking and he just fell! I thought it was a joke but he didn't get up! I don't know what happened" the child named Anne yelled as she desperately and unsuccessfully held back her tears.

As the woman looked around the boy for injuries, her eyes turned entirely dark purple covered in strange runes.

"From what I can see, he's completely fine, just asleep" the woman muttered, "Let's bring him back to the village and see if anyone got any ideas.

Just as the woman starts to pick up the boy, his eyes shot open.

After some brief confusion, the boy starts trembling as his eyes water before starting to scream at the top of his lungs in seemingly a mixture of panic, confusion, and fear.

Getting over the initial shock of such a reaction, the woman runs over to the boy in worry, entirely in the dark about what's happening with her son.

Seeing as her son's breakdown isn't getting any better, she quickly and decisively takes a bag containing a certain powder out of her pocket and puts it under his nose.

The instant that he breaths in, his eyes start to droop, and his yelling calms down before falling asleep once more.
