"Go on. It's fine." Scott replied firmly and we both settled down on his black couch. He was sitting at the center while Oliver and I were on both of his sides.
"I had her investigated a few weeks ago." Oliver started again.
"Few weeks ago? What do you mean?" He frowned as he leaned his back into the couch and crossed his legs.
"Yes. She was kind of suspicious after we found out about Paolo. I didn't tell you earlier since I wasn't sure yet. I told one of our men to follow her wherever she goes and report it right away…" He was cut by Scott again.
"Where is she right now?" Scott asked in a stern voice. I noticed his eyes turned darker just like how he had reacted back when we were in the shooting range.
I was sitting there and listened to their conversation as I didn't have any idea what they were talking about. I was trying to analyze everything but no conclusions were ever made in my mind. So I gave in and just continued to listen.
"She filed for a vacation leave two days ago… that was the same date as your reunion." Oliver replied now sitting anxiously on the couch.
"What!? I just talked to her the other day and asked about Paolo." Scott said looking confused.
"Yes. She left the country a day ago and went hiding. She took it as a chance to escape from you… while you are busy with other things." He replied and glanced at me for a moment and back to Scott.
I stared at Oliver sharply when I realized what he was trying to say and I exhaled loudly.
"She was last seen in one of the hotels in Italy together with Paolo last night. They've been together for a year now… and we had completely no idea about this!" He uttered in displeasure. He dropped a bunch of pictures on the table with a woman and a man in disguise going inside a hotel and some were in a restaurant.
What caught my attention was the guy in the picture. He is kind of familiar to me but I just couldn't remember where and when I saw him. His hair was long up to his shoulder, he is tanned and has too many tattoos all over his body. I just couldn't figure out why he looked familiar to me.
I was cut in my thoughts when Scott spoke.
"Did you go through her files on her desk?" He asked Oliver, now in a serious voice.
Unlike Scott, Oliver's face was now burning red because of anger...Scott's face remained calm as he tried to cover up and made his look empty without any expression. I bet he is contemplating the situation… But he still looks intimidating.
"Yes… but she cleared everything. I have yet to check our internal access as I am still asking the investigation department just today… and they are still working on it as of the moment." He replied and let out a deep sigh.
"Don't worry about it… We have all her information, she knew what I'm capable of doing and yet she still chose to betray me...Now she will get the prize that she deserves." Scott blurted out. "Find her as soon as possible! Locate both of them and bring them to Casa de Alfonzo's...Dead or alive!" He roared.
I jolted from my seat as I felt every hair of my body standing up... goosebumps! He is scary and even scarier when he says those words. I knew behind that calm face lies the crazy Mafia that he is.
"I'll go there personally… What about you here?" Oliver asked.
"On second thought… Tell Marco to find both of them and inform me once they have her or him... I'll fly to Italy myself and give them their lessons!" Scott said firmly as he stood up and went to his mini fridge on the table located just beside the small door.
It is no questions why he was being this way… The last thing you shouldn't do is to fool and betray him. That's a big NO NO.
If you ever did that, just go and run after your life... forever. Do not let him capture you because if you did...you will experience hell in his own hands.
He took three glasses and poured some whisky into the two glasses and a soda in the other one. He then handed the glass with whiskey to Oliver and the soda to me.
"Your work will start today, Faith. I'll let Madison train you and give you all what Sofia should've been doing." He stared at me before he took a sip into his whiskey. "And you will come with me to Italy in the next few days… so you must prepare yourself."
I didn't respond and just continued staring at the man in the picture... still trying my bestest to figure out who he is.
Silence occupied the whole office as both guys were now serious and seemed to be in their deepest thoughts.
Oliver broke the silence after a few minutes and stood up as he bid his goodbye to both me and Scott.
Now we are left there by ourselves. He then stood up and went into his desk and pressed something on his intercom.
*Tooot*
"Yes, Mr. Alfonzo?" A woman spoke out formally from the intercom.
"My office, now." He replied sternly and ended the call before the other line could even answer.
It didn't take long for us to hear a knock outside the door, "Mr. Alfonzo, this is Madison." A woman voice introduced herself before she opened the door and entered the room.
She looked presentable in her above the knee office black skirt that was paired with a red blouse and a black blazer and she was holding a black folder.
She is wearing glasses and red lipstick. She glanced at me before she went straight to his table while he was sitting on his chair.
He signalled her to sit in the opposite direction as mine on the couch which she gladly did as she nodded.
"Faith, I want you to meet Miss Madison, Sofia's Assistant Secretary… Miss Madison, Rayzel Faith Fuentes… She will be my Assistant starting today." He introduced us casually. "I want you to tell her everything about the company and train her." He added as he pointed in my direction.
She nodded as she listened to Scott very intently and would glance at me from time to time. She isn't smiling or even showing any emotion that might be a hint that she likes me or whatever. I wasn't acting friendly to her either.
After he's done talking, Madison then stood up and looked at him, "Noted, Mr. Alfonzo." She bowed at him. "Hello, Miss Rayzel… This way please." She said as she guided me through the door.
The first thing that she introduced to me was every department that the company consists of. And second to that was my personal rule as the Assistant. The must do and must not do when it comes to Assisting the CEO's needs.
She also gave me the documents that need to be finished today and that need to be signed by the CEO. I was told by her to sit right into Sofia's spot which was the desk before you could even enter his office.
Everything went smoothly until the afternoon came… it wasn't hard for me to cope up with regards to this kind of work as I already have the experience back then and I was also once Mika's secretary.
So I stood up from my seat and knocked on his office door. I brought with me the documents that he needed to sign before the day ends.
After three consecutive knocks, I heard him say "Come in!" So I quickly opened the door and went straight to his table.
I hesitated at first as I don't know how I should address him. I took a glance at him when I entered his office… he was frowning as he went through his papers on his table, he was holding a black and gold pen in his hand and moving it in a circling motion in the air.
He was so focused on his work that he forgot about my presence, so I coughed a little just enough to catch his attention again.
When he tilted his head up and looked at me… I saw his exhausted face lit up a little.
"Ahmm...I need you to sign these documents...S-sir." I stammered as I put the documents on his table. I catched him smirking at me when I stammered and didn't know what I should call him.
He took the documents and read through them before he signed and said, "Can you make me some coffee, please… the usual." His voice was now tired.
I absentmindedly nodded and turned my back to him and was about to go out and look for a coffee maker or whatever… I am still trying to recall what coffee does he liked back then as I already forgot about it.
