Chapter 1: Prologue 1: Vessel of The God
Reborn as a God and a Devil King
"Quick! The Lord is about to perish! Retrieve the chosen vase from the ancient vault! Quick!"
"S-senior... it's not here!"
"W-what!?"
In a pristine palace, seemingly made of clouds, above the heavens. A group of white winged men in robes walk around, full of panic and distress. Perhaps winged white is not the right term to describe them, as their wings are more like the rays of the sun.
The men continued with their plight as they tried to find this chosen ship. Suddenly, a man with a noticeably larger wing entered the palace room, nonchalant and seemed to be eating something. The man was surprised to see his brothers panicking and running all over the place.
"What's all the commotion about, my friends?"
"E-elder Fan! Where have you been!? No... I suppose it doesn't matter. We humbly need your help to find the ship chosen by the Lord God!"
"What?!!!? Very well!".
Even though he was taken by surprise, Elder Fan still nodded and calmly placed the food he was consuming on the nearby table. To his bewilderment, all the winged men stared at the food he set aside.
"E-elder F-fan ... All due respect, but what did you just place on that table?"
"Oh, this? That's my ration, my friend. I didn't get a chance to finish it because of an emergency expedition. Thus, I am eating it now. It is very tasty and strong, if I may say so," Elder Fan casually licked his fingers.
"A-e ... Where did you get it?", the little winged man began to sweat.
"Huh? Are you questioning me? What do you mean where did I get it from? Of course I got it from..."
Just as Elder Fan was about to point to one of the glass vaults at the corner of the room, his expression writhed with regret as he suddenly realized something. The one next to the glass safe he was pointing to has a huge label plastered on it, "Elder Fan's daily sustenance." Relatedly, the glass vault he was pointing to also had a label.
"The Vessel of the Lord God. Please do not touch it."
Elder Fan's expression became even uglier as his wings made of light began to flicker. Everyone else present couldn't help but stare at him and the glass vault he pointed at in silence. Some of them were already crying.
"WHY DID YOU PUT IT THERE?!"
---
Elder Fan is currently kneeling in front of a throne. Sitting on the throne was a bright light. Or more specifically, a light in human form.
"Lord God! Please! Forgive this foolish servant! I will take my life and condemn myself to hell if the Lord God so wishes.... No, I will do it even if the Lord God does not command it!"
Just as Elder Fan was about to pull out his wings, the light sitting on the throne slowly waved his hand.
"On your feet, my servant. No matter, as it is already done."
"But ... Lord God, I ..."
"Enough! It is done," the light rose. Suddenly, everyone in the throne room felt a colossal pressure hit them. Some almost choked to death from the majestic presence. None of them dared to move, afraid that they would perish if they did. But as soon as the pressure came, it too disappeared just as quickly.
The title Lord God is bestowed among those who have transcended immortality. It is a title that carries the highest authority and power. A being that is superior to all the lesser and older gods. The pressure emitted by the Lord God is as strong as being brought down by a thousand mountains.
"My servants, my light is fading. I can feel it, the time has come for me to perish."
Hearing this, the winged servants all carried a grave expression. And even though they could no longer feel the strong pressure on them, they all still knelt on the ground and began to cry. Elder Fan was the most affected of all, even though no tears fell from his eyes, his wings began to darken and his expression went blank.
"Lord God! Please tell us what to do!", all the other winged men cried out in desperation.
"Bring me the Soul Seeker!", Light waved his hands.
Elder Fan, who was still kneeling on the ground, suddenly disappeared.
A few seconds later, a flash of light suddenly appeared, and Elder Fan could once again be seen kneeling on the ground - carrying what appeared to be a globe made of glass.
"Lord God, I dare not ask for forgiveness again, I only wish to help you find a suitable container as soon as possible!"
Light waved as Elder Fan handed him the soul seeker.
In the hands of the Lord God, the Soul Seeker lit up. It was bright enough to even blind mortals. Suddenly, the light spread out like a hundred billion fireflies.
Everyone held their breath as the Lord God rose from his throne and looked at the spheres of light floating around the palace.
One minute,
one hour,
a day,
a week.
The servants watched as their Lord God continued not to find a suitable ship. And for once in their existence, they can feel it.
Their Lord God is dying.
The light that once surrounded their Lord God slowly disappears.
In place of the divine light that veiled their Lord God is a woman. A frail, but beautiful woman.
Seeing this, the tears that Elder Fan was holding back began to fall like a storm.
- This ... this is all my fault. The Lord God is dying because of me ... what ... what do I do... Lord God ... please ... tell me what to do.
Elder Fan once again looked at the face of his Lord God who was still calmly trying to find a vessel. The other winged men only saw a calm woman, but not Elder Fan. Elder Fan could see the despair in his Lord God's eyes.
And so Elder Fan's expression suddenly seemed full of resolution, as if he had just experienced enlightenment.
"Lord God ... this life, I offer to you," Elder Fan smiled as he tore his wings calmly.
The rest of the winged men saw this action and could not help but be filled with admiration. Each of them closed their eyes and bowed their heads in respect. Even the Lord God, who was concentrating, looked shocked.
Elder Fan's wings slowly transformed into a ball of light. Which soon grew larger and larger until it resembled the sun.
"Lord God! I offer my soul to you! Use this lowly man's life to find your vessel!"
The Lord God, who now looked like a beautiful old woman, smiled and nodded. She closed her eyes and opened her arms.
The ball of light was quickly absorbed into her as if sucked into the vacuum. When the ball of light was almost finished, the Lord God spoke.
"Little Chen Fan ... Your life, I receive.", The Lord God looked at Elder Fan with a very warm expression.
Hearing this, Elder Fan smiled and choked at the same time. Hearing his name being said by his Lord God after a million years again. He was filled with joy and also sadness, as he knows that this is also the last time he will be able to hear it. The face of his Lord God was also getting younger and younger until his skin was smooth as porcelain, revealing a beauty beyond compare.
"O-thank you, Senior Lu Ying.... E-"
Before Elder Fan could finish what he wanted to say, the light disappeared from his eyes as he fell. Like a puppet with its strings cut.
And just like that, he was gone. Heaven's oldest servant died. A necessary sacrifice for his Lord God to live. For a servant of God, isn't that the most honorable thing in the universe?
"Everyone, prepare for assimilation! I have found a suitable vessel and wish to transfer it immediately!", The Lord God commanded.
"Yes! Whatever your Lord God demands!"
