Charis' whole body trembled. She struggled to make it back to her room without bursting out in tears. Her hasty steps brushed past Salvador on her way back and, although he called out to ask her what was wrong with her, she didn't respond. So he looked in the direction she was just coming from and saw the view that she saw. "Shit."
Charis reached her bedroom and stuffed her backpack with clothes. She couldn't do it anymore. She had to leave; she needed to leave at this moment. What did she think would happen?
