Eve walked down the stairs and peered into the kitchen. Her mom stood by table, setting the plates down on it. She looked around the kitchen and sighed when she saw that her dad was no where in sight. Lately it became harder for Eve to stay in the same room or space with her father. The aura he gave off was uncomfortable and unsettling. Eve knew that she wasn't the only one that felt this way. She knew her mom did, but her mom did a good job at hiding it.
"Do you need any help mom?" Evan asked as she finally walked into the kitchen.
Her mom glanced up at her and pointed to the front door.
"Why don't you call your dad? Hm?"
Eve blinked at her. Her mom clearly knew how she felt about her dad. She bit her lower lip and looked at her mom pleadingly.
"Mom, do I really have you go out there? You know I don't like being close to d-"
Her mom raised her hands up in the air and gave her a stern look.
"I don't want to hear it Eve."
