Chapter 64 - DEAD BODIES

Maria plopped down on the bench and slumped her head down. She stared at her shaky hands that were placed in front of her. Giving her testimony in court took a huge toll on her mentally. The pressure of standing and being watched by hundreds of people, including Trevor whose blood shot eyes were fixed on her intently was too much for her. She tried her best to avoid even as much as glancing at Trevor but his eyes followed her every movement. From when she stood up to give her testimony, Till the moment she walked back to her seat, his eyes never left her. His gaze felt like sharp nails piecing her skin, boring deep holes into it, by each passing second. It was mentally excruciating to carry the weight of his stares. Seeing Trevor again made her wonder how exactly she had falling for him. According to her therapist, she was experiencing a mental state called Stockholm syndrome.
