Daisy Picked up her can of soda from the vending machine and walked over to the bench beside it. She plopped down on it and flicked the soda open. It sizzled and she took several gulps. The liquid stung her tongue and throat but it tasted good. That was the reason she loved soda.
She sighed and stared at the sky. The sky which was once blue, was turned a light orange colour. Daisy was already off the clock, but she was waiting for her lover, Evan. He had promised her that they'll have dinner together after work and she was really looking forward to it.
Evan had been sent on a day patrol and had been out all day. Officers who usually went out on patrol in the mornings always came back in the afternoon. Daisy didn't want to make assumptions in her head as to what could have happened to Evan. He was probably running late and nothing more.
