Aimee couldn't say yes right away. In the beginning, she and Lazarus agreed to start things off casually. Aimee had always liked Lazarus. She didn't really hate the man. Lazarus was like fresh air in her life. But... to spend time together, was that what she really wanted?
Aimee still had a dream that she had yet to achieve. She still wanted to own a school and become a teacher. She might be able to do that if her parents who were wealthy and had influence as a noble family helped her build the school. However, they didn't allow the path that Aimee had chosen for herself.
Lazarus could see Aimee's doubts. The man closed the ring box again, making everyone confused. Arielle, Irene, William, even Aimee herself showed the same confusion. They were very surprised because Lazarus gave up so quickly even though Aimee hadn't given him an answer.
