That night, it was snowing very heavily. Lazarus was on guard with another knight near the gate. From where he was, he could see the palace's lights starting to turn off one by one.
This particular night of the month was one of the things that Lazarus hated the most. William and Kael were busy preparing all the soldiers to be on alert. Everyone was busy except him.
Lazarus looked up into the sky and could not find the moon because it was covered by thick clouds. The puff of smoke that came out of his mouth indicated that the air temperature had dropped drastically. This night was much colder than usual.
Night would soon fall and the first howls would be heard. Lazarus, who was lost in thought, was suddenly tapped by William on the shoulder. He turned around and see his friend.
"What is it?" he asked William.
"Accompany me on guard in the dungeon with Kael," William replied.
"Why? I'll just stay here."
