Navaeh was about to move toward the battle Melody was in. However, a beam hit the man before they could react.
"What's going on?" Roberto snapped "You did seal the tree, didn't you?"
"Seal?" Waniya thought
There was a blinding light and everyone shielded their eyes. The Pillars found themselves inside a room with wooden-looking walls.
There was a very tall woman seated in front of them with a bright expression and a small smile looking at them.
"You're not going to ask a series of questions?" The woman asked
Jaxon answered, "Aren't you just going to tell us?"
"I'm Yvette. I'm with the J. Family but I don't usually enter the System business." She told, "But today is an exception since this looks fun."
"Why are you obsessed with fun?!" Vance snapped
Yvette sighed, "When you live for a very long time, you need something to help the years pass by."
"Thank you for saving Melody." Navaeh smiled
Michael reacted, "She did?"
The Players finally did a mental head count. They were more than they should have been and they looked back at Yvette.
"Did you think this was Player-related?" She grinned "Sorry for the misconception. Tons of people legally enter the Dream Realm with you."
"We're illegal?" Caesar asked
Yvette nodded, "Some of you. Although I can't wait to see what you do so I'm sticking with you."
Yasmin smiled, "Where's Zaiden?"
"This is a test." Yvette told "You have to find him. Before the others preferably since you already failed one mission at least succeed in this one."
The Players froze and looked at her in disbelief. Yvette was confused by their expressions and clapped her hands after thinking for a while.
"I see. The notification has not arrived yet. Not my fault." She shrugged "Zaiden's asleep, I can't connect to the J. Family and Protocol is swamped in work because of the intruders. Everything's gone south I tell you!!"
"Intruders?" Urvi repeated
Yvette sighed heavily, "Yeah. Heroes from other dimensions, disgusting Orders, unknown fanatics like Roberto and other named beings."
The way Yvette spoke drove the point that she was extremely stressed and they felt bad for her.
"Then you failed a mission and I had to do the test since everyone was practically at the doorstep!!" she growled pointing at them fiercely
"Test?" they repeated
Yvette sat down and cupped her face in frustration. She felt her blood pressure wasn't in a safe place and began thinking about her life choices.
"This is going to be the worst test in Sorrow's history," Yvette mumbled
Lucian was in the Dream Realm as well. She had been walking for a while and running into dead ends constantly. The mercenary finally entered a room and saw Zaiden reading a book with thin-rimmed glasses on.
"Zaiden?" she called
Zaiden answered, "I'm not the real Zaiden. I'm just a fragment of him within our dreams."
"So you're only a part of him I see." she sighed "So you know why I'm here?"
"You qualify to take the Tears of Sorrow's test." Zaiden answered, "Find me soon if some very bad people's wishes come true."
"Then don't grant them," Lucian said
Zaiden shook his head, "Not that easy. Some rules are now in effect whether we want to or not. So you don't have time to be talking to me."
"Why are you helping me? You hate me," she asked
"Did I ever say I hate you?" Zaiden asked in thought "You can find out, I own the Realm. In this maze, there is a key to the second test. Find it...Find the real me before this gets worse."
A gush of wind pushed Lucian. She tried calling out to Zaiden but he turned his gaze back to his book as if she wasn't there anymore. She saw the title of the book: Searching
"ZAIDEN!!" She yelled before the doors of the room shut in her face
Yvette looked at everyone seriously.
"The twins have many names. Some are shared while others aren't" She began "The names in effect on Zaiden are < King of Dreams> and
Everyone listened to Yvette in silence and looked at her pained expression. They didn't want to awaken any awful memories but they needed to know.
"The twins share the title
She took sucked in her breath and fanned her eyes with a chuckle.
"The special named beings had a meeting. They were scared. What if someone solved a sorrow with the twins' ocean of sadness? So they made a decision and the twins lost....their emotion for a gift they never wanted." Yvette told, "Everything comes with a price, they say."
Yvette stood up and touched the wooden walls.
"Zander is the sorrowful twin of the day- he cries with his eyes open only for reality to bring disappointment. Zaiden is the sorrowful twin of the night- he cries with his eyes closed hoping his dreams will be different."
"So what is this about?" Becca asked
"Beat the wicked hearted to the twin of the night and wake him up. Like you should have." Yvette said sternly "With the twin of the day the night goes on forever."
"How do we know you're not lying?" Vance asked
"How do you know I'm not telling the truth?" Yvette smiled "Without reality....dreams never end. Therefore if you don't wake him up... you'll be trapped in his Dream Realm forever."
"That sounded like a threat." Ivan grinned
Yvette smiled, "You must have misheard me."
"No. That was a threat, Yvette." Dylan laughed
She clicked her touch, "You two! Come with me!"
She grabbed Waniya and Dylan. Waniya held onto Amber so she had to take him too.
"Why did you take them if you brought them?" Kali asked
Yvette smiled, "Bye. FYI, if you die in the Dreams Realm....you die for real and Zaiden can't save you."
They disappeared and the system window appeared.
