Chapter 123 - Vigor

Shadow Hound's appearance changed. Red strands were in his hair and his eyes permanently became purple with a slight blue hue at the bottom.

"Move!" A Nights Warrior yelled, "You can't handle this one."

He moved his axe to Shadow Hound's head. A shadow blade intercepted the attack and raised his hand to obstruct a kick for a female warrior.

"He's a tough one, Rex," she yelled at the axe-wielder

Rex grinned as he progressed forward. "Doesn't that make it fun, Rina?"

Shadow Hound raised his hand and a shadow ascended onto a three-dimensional mass of something. The villain dodged the incoming attack narrowly with the help of other shadows.

"He's....getting serious isn't he?" Ivan reacted with a wide smile

Shadow Hound forced his hand into the shadow mass and hauled out a dual-sided spear ornamented with bones. The blade collided with Rex's axe and the other blade clashed with Rina's daggers.

"Need help?"

A shield of shadows thwarted an attack from a sword-wielding warrior. He lunged his spear back but was obstructed by a shield as well.

"Let's put him out of his misery." The swordsman Raj smiled

The shield wielder, Rey frowned, "Be careful."

Rina and Shadow Hound's blades clashed again and the villain drove her into the incoming Raj. The man twirled his fingers and body in a sharp motion. Shadow dodged Rex's axe by a hair as the other side of his blade drilled into his right side.

"BROTHER!!" The others yelled

Rex grabbed the spearhead and lounged in his body. He felt he was touching a bar of scorching iron but he didn't let go.

Raj and Rina ran through his blind spot and impaled his back with anger.

"RUN!!" Rex snapped

Although they couldn't respond speedy enough as shadow blades fired into their torsos. Rey bashed Shadow Hound aside, dragging the blade out of the villain's body. He revealed a torch in his free hand.

"You need to return." Rey frowned

Raj shook his head, "This is a battlefield, Brother. I'm willing to put my life on the line like every other warrior here."

"ENOUGH!!" Rex yelled raising his axe to intercept Shadow Hound's attack

Raj lifted his sword and cut into Shadow Hound's left side. The blood on his sword stretched out as strings and tried to entangle him. Rina pulled out her water bottle and splashed it on the blood strings.

"Damn it." Raj frowned

The siblings' bodies started to glow and Shadow Hound felt he lost connection to the manipulation of their shadows. The villain suddenly saw a blade coming out of his abdomen and saw it was Raj behind him.

Before he could react the swordsman yanked the weapon out through his right side and flicked his blood off the blade. Rey slammed him again into Rex's axe although Shadow Hound twisted himself.

The villain made his blood swell like a balloon. He threw his weapon in the air when the balloon impacted the axe and pulled out his claws. He made the balloon burst into a smokescreen as his claws aimed at Rex's face.

The axe-wielder pulled his body away from the poisoned claws. He made shadows cling to his right foot as well as balance himself, spike out like thorns and hit Rey's shield. Blood blades crashed with Rina's dagger and some punctured into her skin.

Shadow Hound caught his falling weapon with his fangs. He clashed with Raj's sword and propelled him back as gravity started to pull on him. He kicked Rey aside, landed on the earth and released a wave of energy to push the siblings away. He took the weapon from his mouth into his hand again and sucked in some air.

"He's a beast," Rina commented as she stood up

Rex smiled, "He's getting tired as well."

They looked at Shadow Hound's bleeding body and how he was taking deep breaths. The player could have healed himself but that would consume too much magic power and these siblings were going to allow him to think up a plan.

Rey was behind him advancing even as he was engaged in thought. He turned around and Rina lashed at his back. The blood dripping down the villain's back turned into strings, but Raj sliced through them cleanly.

The shadows rose toward the ends of his spear. His eyes blazed cruelly as he spun his body and raised his weapon to waist level. The shadows on the ends of the spear sharpened and stretched into curved blades.

The spears had now acquired a side blade similar to a double-sided scythe. Shadow Hound looked at the siblings as they cautiously looked back at him. They were both thinking about their next attack and worrying about what the other side would do next.

"Watching you guys is making me tense as well."

They looked at Executive Usagi seated in the air.

"Rabbit." Shadow Hound frowned

Usagi smiled, "Dog?"

"Are you here to help me?" The villain sighed

Usagi laughed, "Absolutely not."

"Then....why is Blaze's name are you here?" he reacts holding his temples in frustration

"Can't let a rabbit be, can we?" Usagi smirked, "I also have a delivery."

A bottle appeared in Shadow Hound's hand. He removed the cork and gulped down the contents. Usagi frozen the siblings in place.

"Play." Usagi smiled

The siblings lunged at Shadow Hound. He advanced as well with his MP increased by fifteen per cent by Doctor V.'s potion.

"LEAVE ALREADY!!" Shadow Hound frowned making another wave to push the enemies away

He made shadow rapiers rise toward Usagi. The executive laughed as he escaped before the attack hit him.

Shadow Hound clicked his tongue in annoyance and turned his head to the siblings. "Where were we?"

The siblings advanced again.

"Ah." Shadow Hound smiled raising his hand

He made a wave of shadows move away from him as a blockage but the siblings jumped over it toward him. Even so, it was enough time to operate the system panel.

[ has opened, is in use and is returned to the vault]

He made his blood wrap and harden around his open wounds. The blood scattered all over the place spiked upward like porcupines. The aura of the siblings surround their bodies and prevented any critical attacks.

"Don't worry, we're not done either." Rex grinned
