Chapter 9 - How to destroy your family 101

As Leonard went to Elena, he had a devious idea. He quickly entered an empty room, ensuring no one saw him. Holding his sword, he thought coldly, "For my plan, I have to do this."

Then he sliced his arm, almost cutting it off, muffling and crying silently in pain. He felt his consciousness go hazy, but he quickly regained focus. He started making various wounds around his body, ensuring his plan was as perfect as possible. Then he went in the direction of Elena's room, the pain filling his consciousness as blood drops slowly fell. He smiled, thinking, "My [lying], [manipulation], [acting], and [silver tongue] will affect each other, making me almost able to convince everyone who doesn't have a bad thing in their heart for me." His thoughts came to a stop as the pain became unbearable. He quickly knocked on her room's door, making sure to hear someone trying to open it before falling to the ground unconscious.

[Elena POV]

"Today was a hard day. I haven't adapted to being a teacher after being a princess all this time. It's making me feel dizzy," Elena sighed, knowing she doesn't have a choice for the throne, and for her protection, she has to do this. Elena then thought about Leonard and his monster-like potential. She thought about herself being a genius, but in front of Leonard, she was like a mortal in front of a god. The talent level is beyond everything she has ever seen or heard. No one can manipulate mana and get mana that easily like she saw Leonard does.

Elena hummed happily, knowing she has counted a very valuable ally who can help her. Then her thought stopped as she heard someone knocking on the door. She started to get cautious as no one can come to a professor at night, and this can cause capital punishment. She casted a mana shield spell on herself that is able to protect her from physical and mana damage. She quickly opened the door but stopped when she heard a sound of something falling. She quickly opened the door and was shocked to see Leonard bleeding from multiple wounds on his body, his arm almost cut off, and he is unconscious.

She quickly casted a heal skill but knew that it is not enough to heal this level of wounds. She quickly brought him inside and gave him a healing potion. As he started healing slowly, Elena looked thoughtfully at Leonard, wondering what happened to cause him so many wounds. She thought about his parents, but are they stupid enough to offend a royal princess to kill a bastard like Leonard? She made sure the news of his talent stays hidden from all people. But did this decision backfire on Leonard? She quickly sat beside the unconscious body of Leonard while casting a mana heal spell every now and then.

The next day Leonard woke up feeling no pain. He looked around his body and saw he was fully healed. He looked next to him to see a sleeping Elena who looks exhausted. Leonard looked at her silently and thought, "She should have stayed all night casting heal spells or doing something a wizard does to heal me. For the sake of my plan, you had to suffer a little, but I will owe you in the future." Leonard thought as he tries to stand up, making Elena wake up slowly, looking at him and then happily.

"Leonard, are you ok? What happened? Who hurt you?" Elena asked him as Leonard looked at the ground, making sure his skills are ready to act. Then he cries slowly, tears falling from his eyes as he said slowly.

"Y-yesterday bandits attacked me. They said they hurt me and said they were hired by my family to kill me. But before they did, a huge monster attacked them, and I got the chance to run. I didn't know where to go other than you, Miss Elena. I am sorry for causing you trouble and coming at night, but I have no other place to go. I-I only wanted my family to love me. Why do they want to kill me?" Leonard is now in full crying mode while laughing in his heart on how his skills made him a complete trickster.

As Elena quickly hugged him gently and wiped his tears, she said, "Don't worry, Leonard. Nothing will happen to you. You are now safe. I will make sure of it." Elena said with a very dangerous glint in her eyes as she tries to calm Leonard. It appeared that the Ziser family forgot who I am, and Elena will not take kindly to this insult. "I will make sure they suffer". She thought coldly while making plans on how to make them suffer.

John POV

John was watching all this completely stupefied, wondering if the system skills really make people that good of an actor or if it's Leonard's innate talent to be one. He didn't expect his host to be so ruthless, but one thing is sure: the more ruthless his host is, the more he will get exp, and the better the chance he will upgrade his level. John thought as he wondered how to issue quests, as he found limitations on how to issue quests.

1. The higher the level of difficulty, the more the rewards will be until a certain limit. It is for the rewards: either 10 small HP potions or 5 middle HP potions or 10 small MP potions or 5 middle MP potions or 40 stat points. He can't give higher-tier rewards to Leonard no matter the difficulty of the quest, and he can't issue high-tier level potions to Leonard.

2. The quest should be within the limit of the host, so John can't issue a quest to Leonard like [Destroy the world] as Leonard doesn't have the qualification to do this.

3. John can issue rewards without the help of quests, but it takes his life force away. The more he gives, the harder it is to recover his life force and can lead to his death. So John will do this only in huge emergencies.

4. John can't issue an easy quest to his host like killing 1 creature. It has to be of a certain difficulty for the host itself. If the host can kill a certain creature easily, John can't issue a quest to kill this particular creature, and it won't count as a kill if he issued a quest to [kill 100 monsters].

John's only hobby now besides watching Leonard's adventure is to find his limit in all functions and find hidden abilities in him. He didn't have much luck in the hidden abilities, but he will not give up, and he will try to find them.
