Chapter 25 - Things Are Pretty Grim

As the tiger appeared before them, the eyes of the three humans narrowed, their expressions hardening.

Jenna jumped backward, knowing she couldn't survive even a single claw.

Timothee and Aisha stayed rooted in their positions. Both of them lunging out, countering the tiger's paw at the same time, their attacks landing simultaneously.

The power of their combined attack was enough to repel the beast's fearsome paw, even slightly overpowering it, a feat that nearly no one could replicate.

Shock lit up the beast's eyes as its powerful paw was repelled. Its previously unstoppable paw was even pulsing with pain from the brief contact with the two weak humans.

'Damn this woman.' Timothee complained internally. 'Why do I feel so in sync with her?'

Aisha was also confused. Earlier, she and the boy didn't need to plan to launch a perfectly executed two-step attack. Aisha had just attributed it to luck, not thinking anything about it.

But now? Now, she and Timothee had landed their attacks simultaneously. There wasn't even a millisecond delay between them, a feat that shouldn't have been possible.

Seemingly believing their previous achievement was just a fluke, the beast launched forward again, swinging its paw toward Aisha's head.

But, just before the paw impacted against her head, Timothee appeared beside her, kicking his foot out fiercely. Aisha coordinated her attack with the boy, her fist landing at exactly the same time as his foot, their combination proving enough to repel the paw.

A tinge of fear wormed its way into the beast's fierce eyes, but the fear was quickly overwhelmed by anger. Why could these minuscule and weak humans match its overwhelming power? In all its life, the tiger had never met another creature capable of such a feat.

Fury overwhelmed the tiger.

"Raaaa!"

Roaring to push away the last of its fear, the tiger launched out, unleashing a flurry of rapid strikes toward the duo.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions echoed through the clearing as dirt flew through the air. Every impact creating miniature shockwaves and ripping small craters in the ground.

The tiger's rapid strikes were fast and powerful enough to rip the soil from the ground without even touching it, packing enough impact to raze trees from the dirt and leave craters wherever they landed. And yet, these attacks were being repelled continuously by the perfectly combined efforts of two humans.

Timothee's arms were shattered and unusable, only held together by the makeshift sling created from his shirt. But his kicks were fierce, showing an extremely high amount of skill and expertise.

Aisha's attacks contained less skill than the young boy's, much to her dismay. But her speed and power were a level above him, allowing her to make up for her lack of skill and not fall behind.

Only through blending their attacks flawlessly were they barely able to ward off the tiger's destructive attacks. And although their combined efforts gave them enough capability to repel the beast's power, speed was an entirely different issue.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

More explosions rang out one after another, becoming deafening. The shockwaves of the powerful impacts throwing debris through the air. Wind whipped fiercely through the clearing as a massive beast chased the two small humans.

If anyone on Earth saw such a battle, they would surely be shocked beyond words, believing it to be a simple trick of the imagination.

It may have seemed like Timothee and Aisha were holding out fine, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The stamina consumption and mental exhaustion of their achievement were simply insane.

Keeping up with the high-speed attacks of the creature while coordinating perfectly simply took more than everything they had.

Timothee could feel the wet blood streaming down the back of his neck. The shirt binding his arms was fully soaked red as blood continuously poured from the massive gashes.

The overly straining activity was forcing his blood to sprint through his veins, making his blood leak from his wounds at a terrifying rate.

He could feel his body slowing as dark specks danced around his blurring vision. The boy's hope of victory was waning as he felt his body growing more and more sluggish with every second.

Just then.

"I got it!" A cheerful voice called out.
