CHAPTER 5
I'm in the house, watching over my aunt because I'm afraid she might commit suicide because of what happened. He was always looking away and would avert his gaze if I looked him in the eyes, a sign that he was not happy. His job search was postponed; I might continue it soon.
Adonnis, on the other hand, purposely called Thomas and said, "That man was hard-headed." And if he isn't productive at work, I may have to fire him.
"Hello, sir," He said after two rings.
"Please come into my office."
Thomas later opened the door and walked in.
"What is it, sir?" he inquired.
"How are the things I've asked you to do going?" I inquired.
"Not yet, sir," he replied.
"Do it immediately away," I urged,
"Thomas, you'll know I have a lot of appointments."
"Yes, sir," he replied. Then I exited the building. I had to take a deep breath after that.
Valeen decided to go for a walk around the city, pleased that her Aunt Becca was now okay. Her aunt regained consciousness and began to recuperate; their relationship has improved. So, Aunt Becca was working at the shop, and everything is back to normal. It's a great thing. They are close; my aunt comes home early and cooks for us; as a result of what happened, Aunt Becca's attitude changed; she is now like a mother to me, constantly telling me not to eat late, go home late, or do anything bad; after an hour, I was at the supermarket. When someone puts their arm around my shoulder.
When I spotted a man with a big smile, I turned to see who was holding me. My brows furrow with concentration. This is the man from the previous time.
"Can you tell me what you want this time?" " I'll inquire of him. He responded,
"The CEO wants to meet you."
"Why? " I'll inquire once more.
"Of course, he wants to see you because he desperately needs a secretary," he pleaded, "and if I fail to bring you there, I'll face the repercussions," he threatened.
"All right, all right. I'll see you tomorrow," I says,
"Thank you, Miss, for saving me from that devil." He said, hugging me tightly.
"Stop it, don't you! "They are looking at us, and we are not closed." I said.
"I'm sorry, I got carried away," he said shyly. "I have to go, see you."
Why is he calling his boss a devil? That man is impossible. I'm scared now that I've returned to that location; I'm afraid I'll be able to see his face, especially after seeing his abs and well-built body. Then my phone rang, and it was my Aunt who answered. I inquired of her.
"Valeen, I worked overtime, I won't be able to cook food for you," she said over the phone.
"Tsk, Aunt Becca," you're worrying too much," I respond. She hangs up after saying,
"OK, Valeen, Take care."
I went home and relaxed; this had been my home for two years, yet there was a period when I remembered my parents and how much I missed them.
I got up early to do some domestic duties, such as washing dishes and laundry, which I had already completed when my aunt came.
"What are you doing, Valeen?" " Aunt Becca, I'll do some chores," she said.
"Just put it down, I'm the one who has to finish that."
"No, I want to finish this," I insist. "Come here, I want you to meet someone," I say, walking into the living room and seeing a man seated next to Aunt Becca."
"Valeen, here is Douglas, my buddy," aunt Becca says as she introduces the man, "Douglas, this is my niece, Valeen."
Where did Aunt Becca get this man? He's handsome, and his posture exudes elegance. Please don't tell me he's Aunt Becca's boyfriend.
"Hi, Valeen, Nice to meet you, " he said " Hello, Sir Nice to meet you too," He smiled at me, He has fine and white teeth.
" Drop the sir thing, Just call me Uncle Douglas, okay? He said
" Okay,"
" Excuse me," I said as I stood up and walked to the kitchen. They both smiled and nodded.
Then I dialed Aunt Becca's number and asked,
"Aunt, what do you want to eat?" Then she walks into the kitchen and asks,
"Will your friend eat our simple food?" I questioned her, and she replied,
"Of course."
"Are you sure? By the appearance of that man, I can tell he's wealthy, be honest with me, is that man your boyfriend?" I inquired, my gaze fixed on her.
" Yes, Valeen," she ansanswered.
"But why did you lie to me?"
"I'm sorry, Valeen, I'm worried you won't be okay with my decision," I said, a sad face on my face, and she looked at me with regret.
"Aunt Becca, Whatever you decide, I won't interfere, and it's been a long time since your stupid husband left you, and he's not that handsome, so you can't change him." I smiled at her right away.
"And then he abandoned you to be with that lady," I raged.
"He even left you with a lot of debt," I say, hugging her. "The best thing you can do now is move on, love the man you have right now, and live life to the fullest."
"Thank you, Valeen; you're such a lovely lady; I adore you, sweetheart," she said. "I feel the same, Aunt, I'm so thankful to you since my parents are no longer alive but your presence make me felt alive." I said.
"It's my pleasure, Valeen." She said.
"All right let's cut this drama, and called your boyfriend so that we can start eating."
Then My aunt, go to the living room while me, is busy preparing foods in the table.
Later on, the two of them we're holding hands came in into the kitchen. Uncle Douglas was smiling and said.
"The foods that you cook was smell delicious, Valeen, can I taste it?"
"It's okay for you to eat, why not? Uncle." I said. He got a chair for my Aunt and for himself. I was amazed since Uncle Douglas was so sweet.
Then minutes passed, we started eating in silence. I felt like there are so hungry. And then Uncle Douglas spoke.
"Why don't you do business, Valeen? Your cooking skills was great." Uncle said, cheerfully.
"Thank you, Uncle, I'll try." I said in response. "Don't try it, Valeen, Just do it, I can provide the construction of the said building for you to start a restaurant business." He said.
"What do you think, Love?" he said, as he face my Aunt. "You're Uncle's suggestions was great, Valeen, you should do it." Aunt said.
I was felt embarrassed. I don't want that others shoulder my burden in life.
"Why did you go silent, Valeen?" my Aunt inquired.
"Nothing, Aunt," I replied. I've noticed how much Uncle Douglas adores my Aunt. They remind me of a young couple who were head over heels in love. I was just relieved that my Aunt had finally met someone deserving of her affection. I was overcome with the impression that the man was nice. I'm sure their romance will continue a long time.
"Are you thinking about what I'm saying? Don't think too hard about it; just agree right now, and I'll take care of it so you can get started cooking," Uncle Douglas added.
"Not at first, Uncle," I replied, "I'll tell you when I've made up my mind."
Uncle inquired, "What course did you recently finish?"
"Secretarial," I said.
"Is that correct?"
"Yes."
He asks, "Why didn't you apply to big companies?"
My reaction was, "Yes, Uncle, I will attempt to apply."
Uncle said, "So that you can put your degree to good use." I respond with a nod.
"Your Uncle has a lot of things he wants you to accomplish, Valeen," my Aunt explained, "and you can do whatever you want." "Yes, Aunt," I replied.
Aunt adds, "If that's the case, your life isn't boring any longer, even if you don't have a lover." My brows furrow with concentration. Why did she bring up the fact that I was single?
"Aunt, you don't have to gloat about my lack of a boyfriend," I pouted.
It burst out laughing. Uncle inquired,
"You don't have a boyfriend, Valeen, but why?"
I shivered. All I want to do is avoid discussing my personal life.
"I'm not sure, Uncle," I replied.
"You're lovely, but no one has attempted to court you?" it asks.
"Yes, Love," my Aunt responded, "Perhaps Valeen had no charm in men." I want to burst out laughing at what my Aunt says.
"You're so cruel, Aunt," I replied,
"You actually wounded my feelings; it's not that I don't have a charm; perhaps the ideal man for me hasn't been born yet."
