Jodie didn't seem convinced. "She sure didn't seem tough as nails when she was dealing with that stalker. She was nearly as much of a wreck as Casey Parker when we interviewed him. Nearly but not quite. I don't think it's possible for anyone to be more anxious than that guy.
"She's probably being so protective because he's all she has left. She only had an aunt in a nursing home, you know. I guess she's destined to be around those who don't have control of their faculties."
"Or she thinks she can handle it because she's used to handling her aunt," Andrew mused.
He hadn't considered that before. It could partially explain Vera Gilmore's stubbornness on the matter. He still didn't understand how someone could so wholeheartedly devote themselves to anyone so messed up though.
It was sad, really. If Casey Parker had someone like this willing to help him out years earlier…would he have turned out differently?
