"Do you believe what he said about it all being accidental or in self-defense?" was the first thing Devin asked when Howard arrived.
He sighed. "I do. Casey Parker might be in the top three most traumatized people I've ever worked with and that's really saying something. If you work this right, you might actually get your insanity ruling."
"That bad, huh?"
"Worse. It's all in the report. You have a lot of material to work with. As long as you get the jury to understand the depths of his trauma, you'll be fine. I do wish I had been able to talk to the Casey personality and get his take on things but Kane says he's refusing to come out. Honestly, all things considering, I don't blame him."
Devin sighed. "Vera's going to be devastated. That poor girl."
"My thoughts exactly. Do you know how she got involved in all of this in the first place?"
