Kane was surprisingly talkative. Howard couldn't remember the last time he worked with such a cooperative patient.
He was likely only doing it because Vera told him it was how he could help Casey out of the mess he had gotten him into but the motives didn't matter as much as the results. It only took a couple of days to get everything he needed for his report but he did wish he would be able to talk to the Casey personality as well to get his take on things.
"Would it be possible for me to talk to Casey?" Howard asked.
Kane snorted. "Not likely. This is the longest I've ever been out without seriously forcing it. I don't think he wants to come back and face the music. He hasn't tried at all."
"Why do you think he doesn't want to come back?"
"If I had to guess? Because he's a wimp who can't handle the weight of what he's forgotten. But it also might have something to do with his girlfriend. He's probably too ashamed to face her."
