"Kane says Casey doesn't want to come out so that shouldn't be a problem," Vera said into the phone.
Devin's voice was concerned when he replied. "I see. Well, I can bring Dr. Jamison by in the morning and introduce myself. Will you be able to be there? I think that will help ease the introductions. And Vera…are you alright with this?"
She didn't know, honestly. She would do anything to help Casey and knew they needed Kane but she missed him so much it hurt. He was back but he wasn't back. The real Casey was still locked in his own head, just in a different way than before. And it threatened to shatter her already broken heart into a million pieces.
"I'm fine," she insisted. Or she would be in time anyway.
"Alright. I know you have to work at ten so do you want to meet at nine? You won't have to stay long."
"That works. See you then, Devin. And thanks."
