How big of trouble was Snow White talking? Had the police caught up to Casey after all? What had happened while Kane was out?
She was right that he had no reason to trust her and that he didn't particularly like her. She had caused him and Casey an awful lot of trouble, especially considering she was most likely why they were in here.

"Why should I believe anything you're saying?" Kane asked bluntly. "You're the reason we're in here, aren't you?"
"Yes, the reason you're in here instead of in prison," Snow White deadpanned.
He cursed. "The police know?!"
"I don't think they have the full story. Casey is currently under arrest for the murders of Candace Parker, Ashley Call, Martin Candless, and Jimmy Otto. I hired a lawyer, Devin Manfred, who's helping us pro bono but if he's going to build a proper insanity defense case we're going to need your cooperation."
