Casey was relieved when his internship ended and he managed to pass. Even if he did sound like an idiot in the process, he had managed to meet all of the program's criteria.
He didn't want to take the summer off though so he took a couple of classes. Not anything like what he had done to himself last year but enough to keep him occupied so he didn't have time to overthink.
It was weird being back at his usual table without Ashley there. He had missed her the whole time he was at his internship.
Would Casey see her in the fall? She said she would but that didn't necessarily mean anything. His limited trust in people was already being tested by even hoping she would show up again when the new semester started. Hoping had never worked out very well for him.
