Casey didn't end up coming out even after dinner was over and Vera went to go watch TV after they cleaned everything up. Kane joined her with nothing else to do and noticed that she wasn't doing that thing he previously mentioned she liked to do when watching TV.
Probably because he was the one who was out instead of Casey. But it wasn't like they hadn't done it before. She had taken naps on him in the hospital. Why wouldn't she do it now?
He patted his lap. "Come on, you know you want to lie down. Don't be so stiff. You've done it before."
Vera looked like she wanted to protest but couldn't come up with a valid argument. She ended up doing as he said and he stroked her hair the way he remembered she liked. He heard her sigh but couldn't tell if it was a good one or a bad one.
She typically didn't like doing things like this with Kane because she thought he was trying to replace Casey. What was the big deal? He WAS Casey for all intents and purposes.
