Casey thought he was doing okay for the next few days until they had to go to the courthouse for the guardianship hearing. His knees began to shake, which was stupid because he couldn't even remember being on trial aside from those twenty or so minutes he thought he was dreaming.
He wasn't in trouble this time! This was going to help him get his life back so why was he freaking out?
He blacked out and didn't come to until he was back in Vera's store and she was talking to him. "…you have to be really careful when dusting because of how old and fragile everything in here is. Do you think you can do that, Kane?"
Casey sighed heavily. So Kane had gone to the hearing for him. Great. He had held on for such a long time too without his alter showing up.
"…I'm not Kane."
"Oh, Casey! You're back! Are you okay?" Vera asked in concern, not seeming too thrown off by the sudden switch.
"Yeah. Sorry for spacing on you back there."
