Kane knew Vera didn't want him to replace Casey. But she was also currently letting him do something Casey did with her because it was the only way she would be able to take a nap right now.
Didn't that mean that replacing Casey actually kind of worked? If that useless idiot stayed out of commission forever, someone was going to have to take care of her for him on a permanent basis since she didn't have anyone else.
Unfortunately, that would be difficult considering they were stuck in here. Vera could come and go as she wished but they couldn't go out anywhere with her. That severely limited the options to replicate what she used to do with Casey. How annoying.
At least Kane could do this much. This was easy. He could do this more often, though he really hoped it didn't become too regular an occurrence because it was a lot less boring when she was awake.
