"That sucks!" Kane protested. "I can't be in charge forever! I can do my part but if he doesn't do his, we're going to be stuck in here for the rest of our lives!"
"And that bothers you?" Dr. Pratchett asked.
"Of course it bothers me! I don't want to be stuck in here forever. We had a good system going on and he had to go and ruin it. He had a life, I came out to handle things when they got too hard, and then he went back to it once they were handled.
"Why did he have to go and screw everything up? All he does these days is upset people by being completely useless and make me do all the work more than ever. I don't want to be here but I don't have a choice right now."
"And by 'people' you mean Vera," the doctor stated rather than asked.
"Mostly. The lawyer wanted him to come out too but he didn't until the last possible second. The one thing he is dependable for is freaking out," Kane said in disgust.
