"Did you paint for the group activity today?" Vera asked.
"Yeah. We were supposed to paint this polar bear but mine looks wrong. I can't even explain it. You'd have to see it but they're still drying somewhere. At least mine looked better than Jonathan's. He made the head too small and then when he tried to fix it, it got all lopsided. It looks like it got its head half bashed in but nobody finished the job," Kane told her.
Not the prettiest imagery but Kane had never shied away from things like that. He was very matter-of-fact about matters of blood and death.
Honestly, it made her sad. He was so desensitized because of what he had been through.
"And yours didn't have a lopsided head?" Vera asked, ignoring his word choices.
"No. I can show you next time. You'll probably laugh at it but whatever. It does look pretty stupid."
