Dr. Pratchett folded his hands on top of the table. "While you were completely unresponsive, she applied for guardianship to take care of your finances for you and she was the one who found you a lawyer as well when the police came looking for you.
"He realized that they share the same goal, protecting you, so he's been very cooperative when she asks him to do things. Honestly, I'm surprised he trusts her at all considering what happened before but he does to some degree."
Casey didn't understand. Kane had tried to kill Vera. Why was she even trying to work with him? Didn't she realize that the two of them were the same person?
