It took Vera a moment to compose herself but once she did she seemed exhausted but the fight hadn't drained out of her quite yet. "What am I supposed to do about you, Kane? What if you pretend to be Casey again? Am I going to spend my whole life wondering which one is real? How am I supposed to trust you when you pull stuff like this?"
"Do you have to trust me?"
"Well, I'd like to considering I'm stuck with you!"
"Gee, thanks."
Vera huffed, "Oh, that isn't what I meant! Look, we're on the same side here. You did a great job working with me for the trial and I can't thank you enough for that but things are going to be really difficult from here on out if we can't trust each other."
Kane hated to admit that she might have a point. He didn't trust her completely though. There was no guarantee she wouldn't get sick of Casey's crap eventually and leave them helpless.
