Jenna did manage to have some fun on the trip despite her ongoing self-loathing but she was relieved when they made it back home Sunday night after all going out to dinner together on the way home. She had decided she was going to ask Bryce no matter how nervous she was because she needed to hear the answer.
She waited until Wesley had been asleep for about half an hour before broaching the subject as the two of them watched TV. Gathering all her courage, she took a deep breath.
"What did you mean when you said I was just me the other day?"
He looked over at her in surprise. "Huh?"
"When Evan was teasing me about being a beast and you defended me you said 'Jenna is just Jenna' and I want to know what you meant by that," Jenna persisted. "Unless…do you didn't actually mean anything by it."
