Bryce already knew the Mitchells were an athletic bunch so he wasn't terribly surprised that none of them seemed remotely exhausted when he was already dying halfway across the lake. They were neck and neck with Evan and Jonas currently while Colton and Adam were in the lead.
Jenna didn't seem particularly winded either and paddled with extreme determination. He did his best to keep up with her so he didn't let her down though he was wishing he was back with Alison, Erica, and the kids at this point. Or even on the beach with Wesley trying and failing to make a sandcastle and getting berated for it. Anything would be better than this!
His grandma had been high energy for her age but because she was older and Bryce was a child their mismatched energy levels sort of evened out. That was not the case here where he was surrounded by a bunch of high-energy people in his age bracket.
