By Friday, Bryce and Jennifer had established a pattern of eating lunch together. Sometimes she stopped herself from saying things as if she was embarrassed and he wondered why that was. He had already seen plenty of embarrassing things at dinner on Tuesday so she had no need to be self-conscious.
"Hey, Jennifer," he greeted cheerfully as he could considering she had Tessa's face when he sat down across from her.
She smiled tiredly back at him. "Hey. How's it going?"
"Alright, I suppose. Numbers are always consistent but the repetitiveness is such that I could do it in my sleep."
That was the problem. Bryce had far too much time to think while working and that was the last thing he needed right now. Honestly, he didn't know why he was torturing himself like this.
