Bryce's smile in response to what Jenna said was a bit sad. He was definitely thinking of her, wasn't he? Well, she had talked his ear off more than once about her dream and animals in general when they were together.
"Let me guess…you took in all sorts of strays or rescue pets and fostered cats or dogs."
Definitely thinking about her. Those were things she had told him as Tessa or that they had done together. Her heart ached for him.
"Yep," Jenna said lightly. "Good guess. You must know an aspiring vet."
"I did. She…isn't around anymore. But she told me a lot about her childhood exploits and volunteer opportunities to prepare her resume for vet school applications. Unfortunately, she never got to apply," Bryce said in such a sad tone she nearly cried.
