Being home surrounded by familiar places, people, and objects was strange because Jenna had changed. Meeting Bryce and losing him on top of all of her other trauma related to being in the program had changed her. She didn't feel much like the girl that left home in a hurry for the sake of her life.
Would she ever feel like she had before or would she simply have to do her best to fit in where she wasn't quite sure she belonged anymore? Obviously her family had been happy to see her and conversation and laughter abounded but there was a slight wall there.
She knew it was the things she couldn't talk about. Would that ever go away or would her happiness at being home always be incomplete? Would she ever completely get used to being back after everything that happened?
Home was her safe haven and she loved her family more than anything but she was still unsettled. Maybe she needed time to get used to it. She hoped that was all it was.
